View Full Version : Question for the Raiding Clerics- Wis line and EoF

<DIV>I don't know if anyone has discussed this or if anyone has tried it... We all know a majority of the EoF raids are Vampires.  Vampires are undead (WHo knows what SOE thinks...).  So has anyone tried out the end AA in the Wis line that blocks 1000 attacks from Undead?  Will it block those persky raid wiping AOE dots that bounce off of everyone and their brother?</DIV>

I'll admit I haven't done any of the EoF zones yet, but MMIC, and FT is only two raid zones.  I don't know if I'd spec myself that way just for those two zones but I'd be really interested to hear if this is a valid strategy for dealing with the AE.

<DIV>I havent really thought about that but those stonekin type spells normally won't block damage if it is more than 50% (guessing) of your max health. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Plus, I doubt it would stop the powerdrains/ knockbacks either...just the damage.</DIV>

<div></div>Hmm, I'd have to probably agree with Kizee.  For one, I think it does list a 50% limit... secondly, I'm not sure the AE is measured in damage points.  It seems to bring everyone to approx 25% health, 0% power.  I don't see how it could do that so well unless it was a spell that reduced you by a percentage.  Can something like that even be blocked by stoneskin?  Even if so, it should be ~75% of your health, so the first limit is exceeded.Aside from the AE... I guess this would help in tanking for any of the vampires.  Treyloth for one becomes pretty mean at certain points in his script, so stoneskin might be good there.  It really depends on how the stoneskin limit works.  Divine Aura for clerics and crusaders was for a very long time pretty useless.  Stoneskin protects you from unmitigated damage... so the 50% was determined from a much larger value while your health was unscaled.  So say you were up against something that you mitigated 50% from...  The result would be Divine Aura would only protect you from hits less than 25% of your health.  Did they ever fix that?<div></div>

Not sure about the raidzones yet, but the respec is definitely worth it for theinstances and just generalized undead slaying; spcially castle Mistmoore.. I'm spec'ed WIS/INT and Complaines/Blessings and I am defnitely busy casting my little bum off - debuffing, sign of frailty, etc, and when the mob is under control turning undead and strikes.. so yah.. WIS is definitely useful for Loping Plains content.. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>I should probably try this.  I've long since retired my Templar in favor of my Warden so for me to mess with his AAs isn't a huge deal.  When we do MMIS and FT next week I'll check back with you guys.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think for respecing for the new zones isn't a huge deal.  I know for us, the KoS raid zones and contested are cake (mostly) and usually don't require people to have specific AAs.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Cybst0rm on <span class=date_text>01-31-2007</span> <span class=time_text>02:33 PM</span>

OK, an update... I respec'd my Templar and guess what!!!  This AA did NOTHING.  It didn't stop one single attack from any Undead in MMIS nor the Headless Horseman.  And I don't mean just the AOEs, I mean any damage taken at all be it auto attack or AOE.  I'll be /bug ing this ingame tonight although I'd still like someone to try it out and see what they find.

<p>I did this line first a few months ago and found the same thing, the end ability either didn't work at all or worked very erratically, because casting it on undead targets didn't seem to block any noticable damage.</p><p>Lloigor</p>
