I played a templar up until DoF and switched to a Monk - 70/50 epic, T7 experience etc etc. I took an extended break, and I'm returning to my templar - everyone can use a competent healer. Anyways, I know there have been lots of discussions about AA's but here are my few questions:Do I go down the Cleric AP line first or do I head down the Templar AP line? I will be leveling primarily until level 70 with most of my AA's. My train of thought is the increases to all the reactive heals, atoning fates, glory of combats, etc that the improvements I'd see from the Templar AP line would minimze the cost for me to buy unneccesary masters and still remain effective. Thoughts?Secondly, going off a group based setting (with possible solo time) Which lines do you suggest first? Respecs are all available and cheap so I can re-adjust once raiding gets closer to something I will be doing.Lastly, the effect that reduces refresh time and cast times from the Cleric AP line (I think its from the Int line?? )How does that function in regards to the 4 second refresh taunts through AP's? How many EXTRA casts of taunts is it going to provide to a MT who has 4 second refresh on taunts? I think the duration is 24 seconds, so if a tank was taunting every second over the 24? second period they would have cast 6 taunts in that time frame w/out the skill activeIf the duration is 24 seconds, how much faster could tanks taunt again, how many more taunts could the feasibly get over the 6 they would have been able to use?

It doesn't really matter which line you go down first. I'd say go down the line you find more interresting personally. I found the Templar tree more direct than the Cleric tree though. As for the second one. I was trying to make an all-round character out of my templar that could solo, group and raid, so that's how I specced. I went down the Stamina and Agility lines for Cleric:1. Yaulp - Great for soloing, or if you're not too worried about healing and want to do some DPS4. Deacon's Stamina4. Hammer's Smite - Pretty nice for soloing as it interrupts and stuns mobs for a second. Also useful for a bit of extra dps with slow 2h hammers8. Severe Judgement - 100% melee crit chance is a great way to improve some damage output2. Inpsired Renewal - Heal Crit chance. I may spent more points in this one when I get them, not sure yet4. Protector's Agility4. Wondrous Buckling - A short-duration mez: Great for handling those adds in group and solo situations4. Battle Fervor - Some extra DPS8. Shield Ally - Great in group and raid situations for blocking some of your tank's hits1. Holy Shield - Avoiding AEs is pretty nice, I figure. Especially in raid situations! (Requires 8 AP)As for the Templar Achievement tree, blessings is a great tree for group play: Extra procs all around, and since the cures line is kinda broke atm, I went with the compliences line for the decrease in resistability for things like debuffs, stuns and dazes. This build however I havn't finished, so I can't tell you if it works. As far as I've come on the blessings line though: I can tell you the extra proc chance on a lot of the abilities is a very good thing This build works best with a good dps weapon (Especially a 2h Hammer), so I sugest getting a good one there. Grizzfazzle's Greatstaff is a good one to get when you get to that level.Currently I'm using Maul of the Warden's Fist, which is a great hammer, but not too easy to get (It's from the Mark of Awakening raid)
Message Edited by SG_01 on 12-16-2006 01:44 PM

I would ignore Shield Ally, parses are showing it goes off far less than it should. Remember it may have a 60% chance with 8 points in it, but it still then uses your avoidance check which just got nerfed again by 5% in the last patch.

If you are serious about solo play then the Cleric melee crit AA and the DPS AA are what you should put your 8 points in. You can get 100% crit chance and 60 dps then add in Yaulp and a haste item and you are doing some great auto attack damage without wasting any power that you can save for healing.

I use a low dmg and delay two hander for solo'ing, and if I'm raiding or grouping I'll use a high dmg and delay two hander which allows me to cast in between auto-attacks.

If raiding is your focus then the Stamina line for healing crits and the Int line for casting time reduction.

For the templar tree, most are doing Blessings line first, Spurn, and the Cure line, but if you are solo, do the Smite line instead of the Cure line.
