View Full Version : Haste - does it affect the speed we can cast our damage spells, or just melee rate?

usually melee rate.. there are things that help with spell haste.. but other than aa and group buffs (from other classes) its pretty rare.<div></div>

<div></div>It should also be noted that "DPS" buffs, while ambigious, do not affect spell casting damage either... just melee based damage. <div></div>

<p>Spell "speed" is a combination of casting time (plus recovery time) and recast -- these can be reduced through items and spells/abilities. </p><p>Haste affects how often you swing your weapon in autoattack -- it reduces the delay of the weapon allowing you to swing more often.</p><p>DPS buffs increase the amount of damage your attack does on each swing.</p>

<p>For increased DPS get sorcerers aclarity items.  Reduces recovery and casting timers.</p><p>For Healing get benevolent aclarity.  Reduces recovery and casting of beneficial spells.</p>
