Great for soloing...but you have to raid to get it.That's a big issue a lot of folks (myself included) have with a lot of raid gear, typically. People who raid generally would like gear that makes them better when...well, raiding.Even if it had an 8% chance to avoid an AE, or even a 3-5% chance to increase healing criticals - that would be something you could bring to the raids. Instead, it's a great item to assist when soloing...that you have to raid to get in the first place.

For once i agree with the great K :smileysurprised: :smileytongue:

The procs on a lot of items are just bizarre and dont relate in any way to where /how they were obtained and their most likely use.

Soe seem to have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to adding useful and/or interesting procs to items /sigh

The proc is more useful to the plate tanks that can wear them. A paladin or SK would like these a lot, I'm guessing.

It definately is a nice proc for a plate tank as the previous poster said. Just because the proc isnt great for you, doesnt make it bad. However if the shoulders were Templar/Inquisitor only, i would agree with you. But they are not.

Strangely enough the proc sounds like your using the bathroom in a holy fashion.

Message Edited by Protosome on 09-28-2006 06:09 PM

Nearly all items that proc are better for a non-priest... whether it procs damage on a hostile spell, or procs a heal when target is hit... there are very few procs which actually is useful to a priest.

Quite frankly I'd love to have that piece of armor. Who cares what the proc is, look at the awesome stats. Because of the proc the item itself would be better for a tank when it comes to raids and groups, but those stats can go a long way for a cleric. NTM the proc could add to our own survivability in groups and raids. I play my templar like a tank most of the time and off tank in groups, pulling mobs off of squishies with debuffs, reactives, and melee damage. It's usually faster/easier for me to do that than try to drop a heal on said squishy. So it really depends on one's playstyle. While I understand the frustration of procs such as these favoring tanks, I think about how unblanacing it would be to have several pieces of armor proc heals on our targets. I only have two items that can do that. The righteous scepter of the godking (what a pain that was to get) and the mystical orb of the healer (which only took a collection quest) and between the two I see several proc heals.I'll also agree with soko in that there are very few procs useful to priests. I'd personally like to see items that proc direct mana recovery without having to activate them and without them being more flowing thought items. In the case of priests an item having said chance any time we cast a beneficial spell.

Message Edited by Quijonsith on 10-01-2006 12:19 PM

I've got no problem with loot thats geared towards plate healers, I personally enjoy it in fact. But, the proc is still nice for anyone who wants to be healed by 8% of incomming attacks. I dunno, im sure it would be fantastic if it were like the orb from the black queen, or the heal proc from the godking weapon, but then why not just make it templar/inquisitor only. (still have no problem with that). They still have decent mit for a healer and super power and wis. Also some int in there for the nuking priest. Overall they arent too bad. I know I wouldnt mind wearing them. Of course one can argue that the proc should make the player stronger for raids, but why not allow for loot that increases the players capacity in all facets of the game. Those shoulders could be a perfect example of just that. Great power and wis, and a nice heal proc when your soloing large groups of mobs that are interrupting you over and over and over and over..etc.

Should just try to put a positive spin on it. At least its not a 30 minute clicky with a 10 crappy effect.

yeah, but if it was something like a beneficial spell proc, it would benefit raiders more, which are pretty much the only players to ever wear a piece like that, and soloers, since when you solo you almost always have to cast beneficial spells on yourself.
