Simple question, Looking for data before I test myself.Does Soothe, our spell to decrease the awareness of our enemies, work while already in combat. For instance, normally proximity to target increases hate(correct?).If awareness of target is decreased, this proximity based hate decrease may be amplified, allowingsay a mage to nuke more, or me to heal at a more a rapid pace.Thoughts?<div></div>

<div></div>Hmm, I thought that Soothe gets dispelled when a creature attacks. Either because it enters combat, or because it took damage... at least I seem to remember the red outline on the name returning when attacking it. If the buff doesn't drop at that time, it still probably means that its ignoring the buff, right? Of course I'm using fuzzy memory from my adventures in Splitpaw.<div></div>

The outline does not disappear, nor does the spell in maintained abilities, as you know its a decent duration too.It even works on non epic adds included on epic encounters. And your question, <b>whether or not it is ignored in combat</b>... is my question <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

It cannot be cast on a mob that you are fighting against. It can be cast on a target that is not fighting anyone. This means that you can use it while fighting to reduce the aggro range of a potential add. <div></div>

Tim, If you notice though you cant cast it while in combat the effect does persist while in combat with the target of the spell.<div></div>

The effect does persist in combat you say? Given the ONLY effect is to reduce the aggro range of a mob, that has zip, zero, nadda use when the mob has already noticed you.Somewhat related issue - The important part of Complacency works on epics, and thats what I use when I'm not quick enough with soothe.<div></div>

The Spell text says "Reduces Awareness of Enemies"but also says dispelled when target receives hostile action or damage. After reading it again it would seem pretty obvious that it shouldnt work in combat, so why does it persist?<div></div>

<blockquote><hr>hallohesh wrote:Tim, If you notice though you cant cast it while in combat the effect does persist while in combat with the target of the spell.<div></div><hr></blockquote>Yes you can. You just cannot effectively cast it on a mob that is engaged. This means that you can cast it on anything while fighting, but the effect only stays on targets that are not engaged. So you can reduce the awareness of possible adds, but the spell will have no effect on mobs that are already fighting.<div></div>
