The pope looking one is the inquisitor class helm. I'm kinda dissapointed in how they made the templar class hat look. I'd rather run around with a dunce cap on, so you won't be catching me running around with /showhelm ...

From the way it sounds, you may have your choice between the winged helm and the new squire / plate helm.I personally dont see it that bad compared to others .. but I dont want us to have the same hat as Inquisitors.  Then we would have something else to complain about.<div></div>

I was not confused .. your awesome armor does not look like it was drawn in crayon.I like the look of the new helm .. will give me something else to work on )Is this changing all of the helms ? Such as .. Plate helm of the Ether - drop from Vault Plate helm of the Hooluk (or whatever its really called ) (looks like a feathery helm right now .. only more helmet shaped)Relic HelmFIrebrand Helm Just curious if they are all going to have this look , or if there is a specific one ?<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Thanks<div></div>

<DIV>My rule of thumb for if something looks stupid is to check out what remarks a 5 year old has to make about it... Templar hat far and away lands itself in the silly camp but it could be worse is suppose. Being my 2 main chars are a Templar and a Brigand im happy SOE gives us the option to turn off the Helm graphic!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh and I am inclined to say that historical references don't support either side of an argument in a fantasy world, the game world is open to the whims of the EQ2 team after all. They will use as little or as much real world inspiration as the want. However it can be good to muse on where they have been gleaning their inspiration, I for one relish the idea of the armored bowler hat <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<P>That isn’t the most ironic statement I’ve ever heard and I can sense Ken's urge to research the origins of the bowler hat :smileywink:<BR></P> <P>I won't even go in to what the teenager of the house said it looked like, but I think at that age everything follows a theme!</P> <P><BR>Jokes aside it’s a wait and see situation I suppose, the Templar community isn’t the most shy of the forum. I’m sure a little debate may stir when it hits live.</P> <P><BR>Right now I don’t like it, but that’s just me … I think the char in the screenshots looks a tad silly, but people have the option of showing it or not so it doesn’t matter in the end</P>

My wife is a templar.  I agree with her when she almost cryed seeing the new templar helmet.  She hates it, so do I.  She was looking forward to getting the  pope hat.  I think she described the new templar helmet the best.  Its a giant condom hat, just don't have the little tip on the top of it.  Its nice to see new helms in the game, but the Templar helmet is very very bad.  just our opinion <div></div>

<P>Well I like it!  I like how no other class has it (or wants it).  You can laugh and call me the Trojan Man, but we'll see who gets the last laugh when you are dead and I am not.  =P  I'll get a screenshot of my Ogre sporting this new skullbucket and toss it up here.<BR><BR>I would of liked the pope hat, but the Inquistors got it first.  So we got something else that fits the Templar theme.  As Kendricke pointed out.  What would you really expect to see?  A halo? Any word on whether or not they are going to change the rest of the cleric helm graphics ? Such as Helm of the EtharFirebrand Helm ?  <div></div>

<DIV>If I actually took my character's appearance seriously I would simply disable the helm graphic for the Hoolooh hat. I keep it on for comedy value, because it really does like a novelty form of birth control and I'm taunted about it constantly, immature as it might be - how anyone can take that thing seriously is beyond me... but hey, tis just a hat, and it matches the rest of my clown suit marvelously. The comedy value doesn't necessarily come from its phallic shape, one can easily ignore the crude jokes - the thing simply looks ridiculous. I've had some strange outfits in my time but this hat ranks among the most camp thing I've ever seen in game. I wear it to make my character look as ridiculous as possible, right now I don't have to change any of my gear to achieve this :p</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<p>The hat looks better with my solo armor with the same tones. The shape doesn't look as bad with my fat head. I'm slowly growing partial to it.</p><p>Edit: removed dead link</p>

<DIV>My main problem with the hat is that my beard and the tips of my ears cut through the side of the model and show.  For that reason, I still refuse to show it.  I was hoping they'd take my advice when I made a post saying that if you create a helm with sides at the face that our beards and ears don't stick out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
