Are you looking at grouping endgame or raiding? Templar's have the best raid buffs for MT group. Other than that... I’d be hesitant to suggesting a class until LU21 (were getting better nukes... how much better is undetermined).Elder

PointBlank wrote:

i am lookign to start a healer class, i hear inquisitor can heal alot, but cannot fight well, i hear fury is high dmg, and average heals, and templar im not sure about.
Someone is giving you very old information. All priests heal roughly the same. We all do better in some situations than in others, but no one has a large healing advantage.

If you're set on being a priest, concentrate on their abilities other than healing to choose a class you'll be happy with.

As for Templar strengths outside of healing, there is some debate but many people on this board feel we don't have much to speak of. You can make some claims that we can do second string crowd control, but IMHO only if you're taking on tough fights, you're not the primary healer and you don't have an enchanter in your group.

Yes, but in Everquest.. Change is inevitable.. Pick something you'd be happy with, study all their spell lines and make your decisions on what you want to do and what class will get you there

Yes, basically. I don't know what your expectations are, you're not going to do damage like a mage, but you'll do more than Temps or Inqs (2 or 3X) or shamans. BTW, Wardens nuke prettty well too, just somewhat less than Furies.

OOC.

If you want to go into hardcore raiding, or if at least you *always* have five friends who will group with you and you will never ever want to solo, then study the spell lines and take what you prefer, they are all fairly equal as healers.

However, if you want an all-round choice for healing and other things, and especially if you ever want to be able to do anything alone in a reasonable timeframe, I would strongly advise you to choose one of the Druid classes rather than one of the Cleric classes.

My Fury makes my Templar look pathetic in all realms of play other than positions where I am *only* required to heal.

Sad, but true.

However, this is all true now. Who knows how things will change.

With my "Fury hat" on, I do fear it a little. The class is lovely, balanced and great fun! However, classes like that do tend to be a target, sadly. Hopefully, it will be used more as a model for other priest classes to aim at, not a target for pulling down.

I sincerely hope that Furies aren't nerfed and the other priests are brought up to Furies in aspects beyond healing
