The paths are all extremely marginal increases that won't help much at all due to re-cast timers.Sorry to disappoint you. Have fun with your pally (I have one too).

I don't think Eriol's on Beta. If he is, I apologize.

What I will say is that if you're looking for casting increases, look into the Path of the Arbiter (Intelligence path). The intelligence bonuses alone increase your spell damage potential, and as well you'll gain access to Divine Castigation early on (with around 200 Intelligence and maxed out Divine Castigation, you get another nuke line with a ~30 second recast that can hit for around 650-1050). You'll also pick up Facile Grace (reduces cast time). The only real drawback is because it's a caster dedicated line, you'll need to pick up a 2 handed staff for Divine Castigation to work.

You might also want to look into the Path of the Exorcist (Wisdom path). You'll get a few undead slaying abilities (including Turn Undead) which hit for QUITE a bit. Now, to be fair, Turn Undead's currently on a recast timer that's pretty prohibitive and you can only use the ability once per encounter (presumably to prevent multiple Templars from becoming an undead slaying task force).

I have to tell you that I'm REALLY leaning toward the Intelligence path as a guilty pleasure. Seeing big hits is always fun, and I'm slamming solo targets for over 1000 damage frequently with just Divine Castigation on Beta.

Message Edited by Kendricke on 02-15-200609:48 AM

God forbid that they put in some neat things that a healing/buffing class could use. :smileyindifferent:

Also for the Templars on beta, does Divine Recovery have any impact on the group or is it just the Templar that casts it? Just a brief synopsis of the spell from your experience would be great. :smileyhappy:

Divine Recovery halves the groups cast timers and makes the refresh timer 0.2sec from 0.5 sec (doesnt help much at all) for 36 sec.

Would be better if it halved the groups recast timers for 36sec instead of halving the refresh timer.

And not much healing based AA? Hmm quicker cast timers, divine recovery, lower hate on all spells cast, critical healing - this is all healing based AA.

From what I've noticed lately the largest complaint is DPS and or soloing ability. It appears to me that this was what the devs were attempting to address when selecting AAs. However, we have achievements that help us to heal and buff better:

And for soloers, we have:

In my opinion, it could definately be worse.

Heh if I was a soloer Id go for the melee ones.

8 points into DPS, crit chance, STR and the attacks, with them, 400 STR which was easy to get a gimpy basic hammer I got in beta I was landing auto atk every 1.5sec for 500

I would have loved to see a heal/buff line. I raid a lot and a slight increase in my DPS isn't going to matter one bit for that. Yes, it will help questing but I would much rather have more, and better heals.I am sorry, but the first three Achievements listed in your post do not impress me. I was really hoping with this system we would be able to lean more towards healing if we wanted (bigger heals - more heals). If they gave everyone the options, then people couldnt complain that they couldn't heal, or DPS because they could go the path that they choose. Not being in Beta, I don't know exactly how good the AA's are, so I will remain optimistic : )

I'm a little sad there aren't more heal buff enhancements among the AP's but the DPS increases will hopefully make my reliance on them less necessary. I honestly won't see many AP's for awhile because I'm level 60 but I'm intrested to see what kind of DPS increase some of them will add. I can't imagine it's going to be phenomenal, but we'll see.
