I have a High Elf Templar at 60, my Wisdom self buffed is around 485. The Wisdom cap for my level is somewhere in the 420-430 range. My guild has a 60 Wood Elf Warden with 560+ Wisdom, well over the cap, 60 Kerra Fury with 500'ish Wisdom, well over the cap.Starting stats do not really matter. Just pick the race you want to look at for 70 levels. :smileywink:

Is wizdom some wizard sexual ritual? Perhaps this is how they bind a familiar...

I think what's more important, is which race gives you the most deaggro. Answer: Gnomes :smileywink: They get deaggro character traits ontop of whatever your archtype gives you. And it's for quite a bit.

I'm a Human Templar, self buffed I go above the cap. In raids I'm usually around 500. The Lions share of that is gear and buffs from other MT group members.

A Human Racial trait gave me a small amount of In-combat regen. Race is purely flavor in this game. A well geared, skilled templar will do better than any racial trait can aid you.

Playing an ogre templar and its fine. In the beginning his lower wis and int might be bad, but that is soon fixed. Oger's also get some nice traits such as increased defense and stamina/strength plus the usual in-combat power and health regen,

Since I like to quest and many times fight solo or in small groups this helps a bit, but from my experience so is the kind of gear and quality of spells ya get more important. Have several different sets of gear for soloing, grouping and raiding and it works out fine in the end

But soloing is slow...

Sir Luuna, lvl60 Templar on Lucan D'lere

Message Edited by MadLuna on 01-27-200607:07 PM

I'm a min maxer at heart. Stats DO matter in this game. And while some will say a few points here or there dont make a difference, try telling someone that when they are alive after a raid mobs aoe, and you arent. For my warlock, I went Erudite, and I chose all the int choices for traits as i levelled. Once i hit 60, and after raiding heavily from around 48+, I realized I was often overcap. GREAT! I /respecced, and went back and chose all the wisdom traits, rather than the Int.Now, while grouping or soloing, I am Occasionally below the level cap. But once i get into a raid group, thats not the case. And having that extra wis affects resists.I chose an Ogre for my bruiser, for much the same reasons. High agi, str and stam, innate defense, etc. Respecced at 60 to boost my weakest stat, and dropped my agi down a bit.The point is, since there HAVE been respec options granted, and with the anniversary items as well, you have more opportunity for this, you CAN change your choices later. But you can't choose your race over... so choose well.If you choose a contrary class/race combo, you are limiting your overall effectiveness in your primary capacities. Sure, an ogre warlock would have been a novelty, but WHY? I want to be the best i can possibly be. Choosing poorly certainly can hinder your effectiveness. And when it comes time for tough challenges in the game, I prefer to be at my best.Aim high. Be the best you can. Why would you intentionally want to be less than the most effective you could be? It would be like having 400+ pp, being in the top wealthiest players on your server, and choosing to use common crafted gear, or all app2 spells. What is the point?

I don't believe anyone actually answered the question, so, to the best of my knowledge; high elves start with the most inherent wisdom. However, as previously stated, the bonus is insignificant compared to equipment.
