View Full Version : Robe of the Invoker - usefulness for a templar

<div>I'm currently using mostly cobalt as I like the mitigation from it. I was wondering if it would be worthwhile trying to get a robe of the invoker. One of my alts is at the level where he solos easily in the feerrott. Is the increased regen worth the drop in mitigation? My first instinct is yes, but at the same time I don't know how much more damage I'll take when pulling agro. Any thoughts on this? And how many templars here use ROTI?</div>

Is say you be better off doing prismatics / prismatics 2 / Amulet of Ro / Ring of fate than spending all that time trying to get a robe. Thats just my opinion though <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div>I would say its worth getting but with KoS coming not sure what it will bring. Some Raid fights we set the MT group up to not have a coercer or illusionist or bard for certain fights and i use it on those. But we run light on the healer side for raids so i use alot of power. I think its worth having in the bag for certain situations but thats just my opinion.</div>

Any Power Regen items are good for a Templar.I am a Raid Templar, as are many other Templars here. Most of us have RoI's and we know we are not supposed to be hit, so maxing wisdom, power and power regen are our most important concerns. Also, the RoI is easy to obtain solo by spending alot of time hacking away in Feerott. You'd require a raid guild or a casual raid guild skilled enough to complete the Prismatic series and the Prismatic 2.0 is out of the question unless you have a hardcore raiding guild capable of beating the Godking in Fountain of Life.Search through this forum for the Thread titled "I am a Templar, I think...." and you will see many of us with our RoI's. <span>:smileywink:</span>I'd link the post, but FireFox hates linking with Lithium forums. <span>:smileymad:</span><div></div>

<div>Seeing that I just got RoI at lvl 60 (thanks to my hubby's alt LOL) I can say that I've done just fine all this time without it. Of course, I don't solo with Templar - way too frustrating for me. But still it's an item you definitely want to have so good luck =)</div>

It's a pet peeve of mine when these Epic quests, such as the Prismatic 1.0, are trivialized by level cap increases, where once it took hard work and alot of coordination, planning, preperation and expierence to win.</span><div></div>

<div></div><div></div><div>To be honest Prismatics 1.0 were made trivial by large guilds who could run all their members though it thanks to their other chars high level gear. It was impressive the first time a guild completed it, but those who followed have accomplished little more than those who make their way though with level 60 chars. It was beaten and there was a system to beating it.</div><div> </div><div>Speaking in the present is all well and good but may end up wasting a lot of your time. :smileywink:</div><div> </div><div>Remember obtaining a robe is an investment in time itself, I suppose it all come down to what else you could be doing?</div><p>Message Edited by Big Dave on <span class="date_text">01-16-2006</span><span class="time_text">04:25 PM</span></p>

<div></div><p>If you have nothing else to do and are willing to put the time in to get the RoI, then sure go for it. I'm not sure what the regen on it now is, I know it was nerfed when DoF came out. Golden Efreti Boots would be a good one to look into if you are concerned about power regen. The quest is not too terribly hard, especially for 60 characters and the end guy is an easy x2 raid mob that there are almost always pick up raids starting for (at least on Grobb). What is the regen on RoI? It may not really be worth the time, unless you are gonna spend some time in Feerrott anyway. </p><p>I'm not sure about the idea that Godking is going to get a hell of a lot easier once KoS comes out. Sure you will be lv 70 instead of 60, but there is a lot of organized prep work that you need to do before you even get into the Fountain of Life and then encounters once inside are considerable. </p><p>Take a look at what you want to do with your character Navulat, and what resources you have at your disposal (guild wise) and then make your decision. If you are not a big raider, than RoI or GEBs are probably your most realistic power regen items. If you have a strong raid force, then you can look into some of the more significant regen items like Prismatic 1 and 2.</p><p>Calare Nebra, Paragon, Grobb</p>

I am not even going to get the upgrade to the prismatic....more like a 1.5, than a 2.0 imo.It gives what 3 more regen per tick, with less wiz? For such a long and involved quest (which I am near done...and have killed Godking already a few times) it just isn't worth it for me. Doing these quests as a Templar solo is not easy at all, in fact I am stuck right now because I can't solo a part (and it doesn't involve killing mobs...just too many see invis in LT to get updates). This quest should not be all soloable that is for sure but it is pretty hard to do as a Templar. That hammer is not worth it for me. I did get the Amulet of Ro necklace...and that took a long time to solo, but it was soloable.<div></div>
<div></div><div>Longer fight ( short on DPS, and No AoE ) Definately usable.</div><div> </div><div>AoE fights... Ditch the Robe and go for HPS if ya have to absorb it.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Just check where ya are at so far for FT Items. Think the cap is 90, 45 max from spells / songs, 45 from Items? Heh, I dunno 4 sure so someone can correct me..</div><div> </div><div>Golden Efferiti boots</div><div>FT1 Neck from the Quest in PoF</div><div>Ring from Darathar</div><div>FT2 Prismatic Gloves</div><div>FT1 Bracer</div><div>FT2 Ring from Faction quest.</div><div> </div><div>Cant remember the names of it, but I suspect most temps will know what Im talking about... FT for the win, but Robe for the win on long mobs or if your power pool isnt all that great. If your still hanging in T5, see if ya can get a BP from MoTM, good wis and power for the regular stuffs and thatll hold you until ya find a good Piece of T6 fabeled for your chest ( Djinn )</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Elrohn</div><div>60 Temp of Dissolution on Nek.</div><div> </div><p>Message Edited by Elrohn on <span class="date_text">01-18-2006</span><span class="time_text">09:13 PM</span></p>
