Thread started by Kendricke: on Dec 21 11:20am CST -- 35 post by Kenny in 6 pages. Thread started by Caethre: on Dec 21 11:23am CST -- 14 post by Caethre in 13 pages. Many posts in the thread Kendricke started are from Silverfrost. There's less animous in Kenny's thread -- there are almost no furies inciting angst in Kenny's thread (they all agree with Kenny after-all). I suspect Silverfrost replies to Kenny since there is less angst there; and Furies incite anger in any thread that doens't coincide with the Kendricke/Fury point of view. Kendricke was very successful in his self-aggrandizement campaigns (blatant "i'm great" and bump threads) to get his thread stickied and his brown nosing favored by Sony. His input was so highly regarded by Sony we have this excellent balance after his superior feedback and assuredly highly factual testing/analysis (/snicker). Meanwhile; Caethre does what so few have the patience to do and rolls a Fury to tier 6 to give genuine side-by-side facts. What does Kendricke do? Changes his tune. No more "DPS is low but OK" discussions -- now it's "The Controlling Templar" and other diatribe. Let's change the debate god forbid there would actually be FACTS to prove the current state of templar. HEY RAJ! Kendricke asserts himself as our community rep and speaking for us so this is not a "personal attack" I am addressing the poistions of our self appointed community spokesperson. This appears to be borne out by Sony's invitations to Kendricke and their support of his perpetual belittling of anyone that disagrees with him. It's appropriate to address the representitive's positions. What do Templar's Need? Less of Kendricke. More of Caethre. Facts over Diatribe. on edit: fixed name 'silverfrost'; red poster
Message Edited by bigmak2010 on 12-21-2005 10:01 AM

I totally agree big. We need less "I know more than you, na na na na na naaaaah!" and more factual testing. Caethre has done a wonderful job of this and has been very firm on her position. She has provided extensive data to back this up, however it is not smiled upon by many of the other classes as they are now in the spot light and are ardently defending that position. So facts get bogged down by petty bickering. While I do applaud Ken for his "Holy book of templars" thread and constant work on updating that. I have seen innumerous threads by him and others like him that focus more on belittleing others who do not share his opinion of "everything is fine, go SOE!!".

Now I'm in the 'mostly happy w/ my templar' category. However, I too solo a lot. I soloed 85% of my 54 levels and have done a ton of quests and couldn't disagree w/ ken more that "our DPS is fine". I blitz through quests way faster w/ my non-templar alts (which include other healing classes) that I ever dreamed of w/ my main. We need a DPS boost, period. Now i'm not one of those who want's something equivilant to scouts or mages, but give us something. They decreased the cast time of our encounter AOE, woo, whatelse have ya got?

They have slowly chipped away at our overall abilities over the past few months and are likely to continue to do so. Examples: we lost parry, our heals were reduced, our spell timers increased, proc rates changed, entire heal lines that were effective totally revamped to futility. Anyone who argues that a 12 sec single target mez is equal to or better than a str debuff (keep in mind that less str means less DPS from the mob) is either insane or extremely jaded.

a) Sorry, but, didnt you quit?

b) Again, sorry, but I seem to have missed the point. Did this have a purpose other than complaining about Kendricke and our already much complained about lack of DPS?

We may or may not have a sef appointed class representative, but we certainly seem to have a self appointed forum mod. Is Raijin slacking off too much in your view or something?

I can't believe we don't have a post from the Fury/Warden department yet! I'm new to these forums but started watching them ever since LU15. I've posted only a handful of times when topics are interesting enough to note. Yesterday, I looked over the majority of our posts in the Templar Forums and found that most, almost all, of our posts are responded to quite heavily by the Druid community. I then went over to all the other Priest Forums and found that in the last week we posted on their boards only about 3 times. I do not exaggerate these numbers...we almost never bother someone else's forums. We're busy trying to fix our class too much to annoy other classes.

What we ask for in these forums is...frankly, none of the Druid community's business. Sure we sometimes draw comparisons with other classes, but this is an interactive game where we have to group with and at times be replaced by other classes. If all classes were in the same "trouble" that we were, then it would be pointless to look at your abilities to deal with these issues other than to see how you guys address the same challenges. However, this is not the case. We see how the druids solo better, offer a greater utility to groups, and heal equally as well and then we seek for a similar balance to our own classes. This is our forum, it is our right to talk about these issues and not be shut down by the Druids.

All that being said, Big hits much of our issues right on the nose. I post what I have because of his Fury statements. I also think it's important that everyone understand that we do not have a spokesperson. If that were the case, let's get rid of the forums and just give me the spokesperson's email address so I can tell him/her my issues and let him pick what's important. If we could not discuss what's broken with our class, then once more, get rid of these forums. Kinda getting tired of posts from the few templars saying everything is fine. Why do we need a forum to say that? If everything is fine, then don't post. Because nothing is broken and therefore no one needs to look at it. Otherwise you're only posting to tell those people who see issues to be quiet and to drown out the issues in endless posts that the Devs will never take the time to read.

I love my class. I would like to see some of these issues fixed. I do not believe in equality for all and would have never implemented an increased healing to other priests without giving the left out priests something to work with. Numbers that show current toons on only show how much we love the templar and keep hoping...not how broken he is or isn't. I really hope we get some love. We got a little bit in LU18 but it still avoided what was really wrong. Hehe, I mean seriously, a decrease in the reuse time of our target group encounter AOE is nice....but with the same long cast time who can get it off in a good solo fight anyway? I won't complain about gravy....unless it's all I'm given to eat. Let's see some of the meat in our issues get addressed please.

Thanks for allowing me to post on this before the Druids do,

We need less bickering, ironic that this post asks for facts but is complaining about the conflicts between K & C. The fact is they have both contributed to this forum, both have given contructive feedback, both love the Templar class and have good intentions and both have stepped up to the plate to represent Templars and provide feedback in a constructive way.

Is there anything wrong with having two active posters? If you don't like what people have to say, move on. Post a constructive counter or find another post. The fact is neither of them is perfect but they are trying. If we spent less time fighting with each other or the druids and other classes, maybe developers would have an easier time pulling information out of the forums and actually figure out what people want.

The point is the class works, it is possible to play, heal, solo and all the other aspects of the game. Is it fun, is it what people want? That is the big question and varies from person to person. It is fun enough for me to keep playing but I am not satisified. I want and expect more. Does than mean I will rant and complain and threaten to quit, no.

1. Yep; I did quit 2. Look back to ... late October I think? One if the reasons I came back after LU13? I wanted to post counterpoint to all the shutting down of dissent Kendricke was pulling off. I even said so in this forum. Mostly I came back because I missed my Templar; I loved playing him. 3. In a week and a half I posted nothing related to templar because I agree in principle with the view that 'no longer in game [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]'. However; I got nothing to loose now eh? I'm gonna tell Sony, Kendricke, Raj what I think because I want Templar's to be made Templars again! And I see Kendricke get more and more vociferous over his new approach to why Templar is a good class -- lol -- we have mezzes! woot! 4. I still agree in principle with 'no longer in game [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]'... so you don't see many posts from me nor will you. 5. That other game doesn't have Templar's. That stinks. If Templar was made Templar again... hey; I might come back AGAIN. So I gave away all my stuff. Seriously... Templarian suicide. Less enticement to return. No horse, no quest items, no clothes, no coin, ...., one hundred percent zero not one single item of anything. 6. SO... maybe at some point in the future after that other company annoys me I'll reincarnate as <insert class name here> that I now have the experience to realize I should have absolutely no attachment or love for. But then again... Sony already taught me that lesson so I have a menagerie of characters to play on the other game. 7. I played my Templar to 60 just to make sure it wasn't better at 60. It wasn't. It was worse. With other classes getting ancient scrolls to make them best healer, etc. Sad really. I lobbied a-lot to get this class fixed while I was leveling and experiencing it. I can heal bot raids. I'm not in a hardcore raiding guild. What can I do? Play an alt? Why? Same content over again? I can roll alts in MANY different regions with different story lines and quests in that other game. Why would I want to re-grind all the exact same content here? What I really want is to have a Templar again. Not a heal bot that any other priest can do equally as well. I don't have the patience to roll a different class equally capable healer that can do other things too. Maybe that was SOE's intent? Kill off Templars? I can see that. Balance the population of characters. They figure most will roll Alts rather then quit. Just not my cup-o-tea. Given the choice between re-grind an Alt or new content -- I'd rather experience different content.
