<P>Flowing Thought items stack.  Battlement of the mind items do not.  As a templar, FT items are few and far in between.  Both of my FT items are boots.  Battlement items were easy to get, but nerfs hit them and now they don't stack.  There is one more type of in battle power regen but I can't think of what it is and I'm at work so I can't look it up.  Also, there are a few out of combat power regen items around.</P> <P>In Dof, I have seen FT items on mage items and chain..haven't seen any on plate armor yet.</P>

<DIV>I would respec and get + 10 regen too.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Someone may have 100 more mana than you from 5% pool traits but you have 10 more regen, in 1 min 40 you have made up that 100 mana through regen, and beyond that your better off.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I cant think of any raids we do that last 1min 40 or less when its a decent fight. Only thing I can think of would be 24 lvl 60's vs some T5 <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Even if you have lots of base power like 3700 so your 5% extra would be 185, 185 mana is made up in 3 min 6 sec, now still theres not many fights that last that time, I think maybe Lockjaw does for us. but in that fight I can only spend between 20M and 10M anyway. The long fights are what you should worry about, and the long fights +10 regen is better than +5% mana always. (Bare in mind 3.7k or higher base mana is a lot too) The max anyone is going to have from 5% pool trait in full T6 fabled and prolly T5 bits too is 200 extra mana. Thats 3 min 20 sec of regen worth, unless you can spend about 4.5k mana (taking into account some regen and assuming self buffs only) in just over 3 mins the manapool isnt worth it. Cant think what you could be doing to burn your mana that fast, if your in a raid you have manapool buffs too and well far more classes buff manapool than regen.</DIV>

<DIV>Great info in your posts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Dunno about choosing +mana regen over power pool. Im very leery using my last repec to test soemthing out.. I believe being a euridite i get +15% to power pool over 3 choices. I could be wrong. But i believe the mana regen cap is easier to hit than the Power pool cap (which i dont think there is one).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SO.. i will prob pickup a Battlement of the mind item and maybe a robe of the invoker, Doubt it will be a cheap buy for the robe. /sigh</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Elder</DIV>

Manaregen cap at 60 is 90 mana a tick, unless your always grouped with a bard and chanter, having 50 self regen is great, And even if you are usually with a bard and chanter, Id still go for max regen <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<P>Hi Jida,</P> <P>Looking from you sig, I see you have 3315 Mana. I do not know at all how the max mana of 5% from traits are factored, but let us assume the best case imaginable for you:</P> <P>Your mana is buffed to 6000 for a raid.</P> <P>5% of 6000 = 300 extra mana from the 2 max mana traits.</P> <P>The way I always look at this will be, if you took the regen trait at 10mana/tick. Any fight that last longer than 3 mins. (10 mana/tick X 10 ticks/min X 3 min = 300 mana) will actually yeild more mana for the caster.  If the max mana calulation is anything less, the time it takes regen to net you more mana will only be less.  How long does your adverage group fight last (what happend if ur group chain pulls)?   If you raid alot, how long does you adverage raid fight last?</P> <DIV>In my opnion, regen is king.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Generis2 on <span class=date_text>11-11-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:16 AM</span>

Another thing to keep in mind is that in a short fight (1 min 30 secs), even if you chain-cast, you won't run out of mana.   I don't believe you can burn mana off that fast without being foolish about it.  If you ARE burning mana off that fast, there might be a problem with tactics.  As a defiler with all my traits put towards power regen, I've just about chain-healed for 10 minutes straight on raids (like Vox).  These long fights do exist, and in my opinion, are the most difficult, and the most important times to have an optimized character. Also if you die and get revived, the regen will serve you much better. I definitely would not go with the higher power pool.  The cases where a higher power pool is better than higher regen are very rare. <div></div>

every mana regen trait i have seen is a buff that you have to remember to cast on yourself... is this true? if so how often do you actually remember to cast it, and if i remember correctly the recast timer was longer than the buff... <div></div>
