View Full Version : What five level 40-49 adept 3s are a must

So I did a bunch of harvesting over the weekend and ended up with 5 rares to make tier 5 adept 3s. Looking for some advice as to what spells people would immediately upgrade to adept 3. I mainly solo, gotta finish every quest I can, and haven't played much since the update, been too busy crafting. So list your 5 absolutely must upgrade to adept 3 spells.

Thanks

Well I grouped about 70% pf that time. But I would go as follows for soloing.

1. Greater Intercession or Crucial Intercession Assuming one of theses is your master II choice.

2. Greater Amelioration.

3. The Smite line.

4. Mark Of Kings <-- For soloing you are gonna want that divine debuff

5. Preatoreat <-- extra Power (sp)

Just my opinion.

Edit: Oops Tab+ enter = post

Message Edited by thesilverfox on 11-01-2005 03:07 PM

Valor [L47]

Greater Intercession [L40]

Crucial Intercession [L42]

Sacred Redoubt [L44]

Symbol of Pinzarn [L44]

Can also go with Greater Amelioration or Greater Restoration for Pinzarn in a pinch...But I went with buffs and reactives first.

My opinion is, upgrade those spells that receive no replacement until the NEXT expansion (if ever)

Those would be, in no particular order,

Valor

Atoning fate

Involuntary Curate

Glory of Combat

and whatever other sub 47 spell you prefer.

There may be reasons that the four above don't make sense as upgrades, but I'm not ingame to check for the next few days Be sure to check out the upgraded stats to see if it's a logical upgrade.

As T5 is now a "bypass" zone, I would suggest to only get ADP1 or Traits for your RHs and upgrade spells that, as mentioned, haven't replacement. I actually upgraded the following spells and still using them very often at Lv59.

1) Glory of Combat - Free grp heal

2) Atoning fate - Free grp heal

3) Focused Benefaction - Low casting cost and really helps especially you are almost OOM and the MT is in trouble during exping

4) Involuntary Curate - Free heal and buff

5) Mark of Kings - Free heal and debuff

Out topic but would also recommend the Lv7 spell "Weakness" which I am still using. ADPIII version decrease 14.9 opponent str which may help when taking some hard hitters.

Message Edited by Matek on 11-02-2005 03:26 PM

SEE!? I love that spell. I wish we still had that line. I know some of y'all prefer the pacify stuff, but I duo a lot with a squishy mage. He often ends up tanking because sometimes, he just can't lose the aggro. Lowering the enemy's strength made me happy.

Why would you guys want him to upgrade the spells that don't aid *nearly* as much as the buff and heal line? True, 47+ stuff doesn't get upgraded in T6, but c'mon, if he doesn't get upgrades to reactives and buffs, he's gonna have a lot harder time than if he did upgrade. If it was me, I'd rather not suck in t5.

Oh and I forgot about the L44 Master 2 training. You can skip Adept 3'ing either Greater or Crucial Intercession because you'll get a choice for the Master 2. I would reccommend Crucial Intercession.

How long will he spend in tier 5? A month or two, maybe 3 if he's a very casual player.

How long until the next expansion? 6 months, a year, ever?

I'd rather see him have something of value for those 6 months or however long it takes to pass level 60, than for the few weeks or months in tier 5.

He asked for opinions, there are a few to choose from here, he can now do his research and make his choices.

>>Reznor wrote:

If it was me, I'd rather not suck in t5.<<

In my opinion, Atoning Fate and Glory of Combat contribute toward "not sucking". Especially now that we have a free concentration slot and you can place GoC on two melee fighters, doubling the effect for very low power cost. I love seeing that golden glow and hearing the 'healing sound' when I didn't directly cast a heal; it comes as a welcome relief in tough fights. Is it better to have a few more hit points on the tank via buffs or a few free group heals, especially in long, power draining fights? Opinions differ, obviously. IMHO, if the healer is oop and the tank is heading toward the red, I'd rather see the free heals than see him last two seconds longer in the red before dying.

Edited due to accidentally posting before finished.

Message Edited by El Conquistador on 11-02-2005 10:36 PM

I agree that GoC and Atoning Fate do not suck. But I think raw heals would be more important primarily. I think the most important thing that we can offer to a group is to be at the height of our skill and game. So that (to me) means having buffs and heals upgraded to adept 3 first, followed by utility spells. It doesnt matter if he gets to tier 6 the next day, every little bit helps. That's how I see it.

Thanks all for your help. Ended up I had 6 tier 5 rares so this is what I'm getting made

Glory of Combat

Atoning fate

Focused Benefaction

Involuntary Curate

Mark of Kings

Condemning Smite

The idea to upgrade spells that I won't get an upgrade for in tier 6 was a good one. I picked up Condeming Smite as well, I solo so much and this is the main source of damage so I need the upgrade now.

Kire

Enjoy but you will lack healing power in T5, and even when you choose your M2 you will still lack potential =/

Ah heck a couple more hours harvesting and you can get all the rest upgraded. I hate it, but rares do drop almost as frequently as Philly Eagles passes.

FYI they fixed the Lv55 spell + Focus Benefaction trick. :p

my first 6 t5 upgrades were before lu13 so i kinda screwed myself. i got single and group reactives, praetorate (no regrets there for sure), 2/3 group buffs and GoC. GoC adept 3 is 381 for group and sometimes i cancel my group buffs and put that on 3 or 4 classes (even mages can proc it). I love that one. the srewed myself part is that one of the buffs i got upgraded is now a measily magic ward and i'd rather have valor. i wish they'd have given me back my rare for that one. I just sent off to have focused benefaction (50 but t5 rares still work) upgraded and... oh jeeze. I can't remember the other one but, oh yeah. duh, Valor. These two don't get t6 replacements and i've found FB to be quite useful.

Message Edited by Quijonsith on 11-14-2005 03:39 AM

I have Master 1 Aegis of Faith, nothing wrong with it. Very nice when the tank would have been nuked for 9k but instead only takes 6.5k

Ad3 still worth it for Faith line.

that is a good point. I just haven't quite found it with as much use. I was looking to upgrade an all out buff when i upgraded that. then it got changed. From that PoV i'd rather have upgraded Valor first and come back to faith. kinda hard some times to predict when we're gonna get nuked, but it's a learning game. i'll have to try it more when I start seeing nukes go off. Bout the only spell I haven't gotten used to having.
