<DIV>I was giving moral support to a guildie going for her subclass quest yesterday and after her failing four times she gave up. She is level 19 with a few adepts and decent equipment and armor. Then late last nite I was again in Vermin and a level 18 needed some mobs greyed out to get to the door, so I obliged him. He also tried the subclass quest three times and failed. He also had all adepts and again decent equipment. They both killed the wanderer first and got that far. Then they both went straight down the hall and leave the others alone. When they went to kill the main guy and his friends both died. Neither one of these peeps come to these forums so I told them I would try and find out some solutions. Could anyone post some hints or tips to succeed? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance for your help!</DIV>

Sprry there isn't much of a response here =( A large majority of the Templars posting here are 40'ish and higher. I haven't the foggiest clue on how to do the Templar sub-class quest and I did it back in December. It totally eludes me <span>:smileyindifferent:</span> <div></div>

<P>Well, it has been awhile, but I recently did the Mystic Quest and I think the fight is the same in Sir Wembly's tomb. </P> <P>I cleared everything. I think the wanderer can repop so I waited a bit but nothing happened.... Anyhow, as long as they are getting no Adds the Last guy should be alone. </P> <P>This is the general strategy I used for tough solo fights back in the day, I'm not going to Include the Pacify, as the Players Subjugation is probably low, and it gets resisted a lot anyway. </P> <P>Make sure all your buffs are up on you. Cast BoV on yourself before the fight, and wait a tick to get your power back, then pull. Turn on Auto attack and cycle through HO's using Smite, it costs next to nothing Power wise. Whenever your health drops past say... 60% - 70% Cast BoV again, keep this simple cycle moving for as long as it takes. </P> <P>It will take forever for sure, but the main point is to make the Named mob waste all his power, while keeping yours. </P> <P>Anyhow, there are better and more complex strategies they will be able to use later on, this always worked for me. </P>

<DIV>--><EM><FONT color=#cc00ff>"They both killed the wanderer first and got that far. Then they both went straight down the hall and leave the others alone. When they went to kill the main guy and his friends both died."</FONT></EM></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's been a long time since I've done the quest, and with the combat re-vamp some things have likely changed [i.e., gotten a bit harder], but perhaps this will help:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Definitely killing the wanderer first is the way to go -- should be reasonably easy. So long as they proceed down the first room in the middle, they won't aggro the skeletons on the side.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Once they make their way down the first room, there is another room on the left with the main guy behind a table. By staying in the corner of the "L" and not entering the room they can buff up and let mana regenerate for the fight. I think the wanderer re-spawns on a 5 minute timer, so they shouldn't hang out for too long but it's certainly enough to get full power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What I did a few months ago was put both a group reactive and a single reactive on myself, and then charge into the room. The main guy is surrounded by three buddies if memory serves -- all you need to do to get the update, though, is drop the main guy. Period. I kept him as the main target, and did damage as fast as possible (HOs) to drop him as quickly as possible. With the new interruptions, this may be difficult to do quickly... so have your guildies ready to put another reactive on themselves. With 3 or 4 critters beating on them, they'll go from yellow health to full in no time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The key is to drop the main guy as quickly as possible, then exit through the door behind the guy as soon as he dies. Likely they can't take everything in the room, but they don't have to -- just the main guy. I whacked him and then double-clicked on the door behind him so quickly, and I actually got the quest update once I got dropped back in Snye <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>They'll get dropped in a semi-random place in Snye, so you will likely need to hang out and go to them to give them a patented grey-escort back out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope that helped...</DIV>

<P>No problem friend, and good luck to your guildies. One other tip -- if addled memory serves, I couldn't target the main guy from the corner where I parked myself [the "angle" of the "L"]. I had to jump into the room before I could see him behind the table to target him. Your graphics mileage may vary <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>He dropped in roughly 30 seconds of chain-casting HOs, certainly less than a minute. So long as they double-click the door behind him once he drops, they should be able to complete it sans croaking.</P>
