Every patch note that I've read since the combat upgrade has changes to many various classes. I've looked but I can't seem to find a single reference to a change to templars. For example, the recent test server patch notes have.

Bard changes:
- Selo's no longer expires and can be toggled off.

Coercer changes:
- Mind Splice now has a better chance to land on the target.
- Terrible Awe no longer triggers the area effect damage Heroic Opportunity.

Conjurer changes:
- Flaming Agony now has a better chance to land on the target.

Defiler changes:
- Mail of Souls correctly cures Piercing effects instead of Mental effects.

Dirge changes:
- Scream of Death now has the correct stealth hit bonus.

Fighter changes:
- Offense is a new offensive stance granted at level 6.
- Goading Gesture had its power cost reduced.

Guardian changes:
- Desperate Offensive is a new offensive stance granted at level 22.

Inquisitor changes:
- Cruel Invocation now has a reuse timer of 3 seconds instead of 25.

Monk changes:
- Will of the Sky now correctly dispels noxious effects.

Paladin changes:
- Courageous Wrath is a new offensive stance granted at level 22.

Priest changes:
- Bounty of the Virtuous now has a recast time of 5 seconds. Does that mean that we're all fixed, and all the other healers are changing around us based on what we are?

Kire

Message Edited by rekikire on 10-16-2005 12:57 AM

good question, and with how secretive they are when it comes to the issues brought up on the class boards, we may never know.

Just FYI that warden change was a nerf to our rez. It's not like it was any help to the class.

hmm...before I came to the Priests Sanctum, I was looking through the Dev Tracker to see if any of them had ever responded to anything on the Templar boards in regards to the CU. I couldnt find any, but may have just been overlooking something. Then I came here and read this. I am not sure anymore that they even read these boards. Just sad really, I keep looking for something like.....we realize that 14 levels between the main atttributes of you class (reactives) might be a bit too much, or we realize that as a cleric one of you main utilities shouldnt be mezzing, or maybe we are going to give you a useful soothe so that it works on an encounter instead of just a single target. Just some little morsel to make the changes seem worthwhile or even really to let us know that they even care about Templars.

On a side note, I feel for the Wardens, I really do...just like I feel for the Warlocks (the warlock of my group feels pretty much useless now in our regular group of two swashies, a warlock and a templar), but this thread and this forum is about the Templars. The point to the post really isnt that this class got nerfed or boosted, its that NOTHING ever is said about Templars. We got changed and dropped out of the minds of the devs. We have no feedback whatsoever about our class, whether it is positive or negative. We dont even get a "shut the hell up and quit complaining because nothing is going to be done about you." We get nothing, no validation to our concerns or not even a tidbit of some other nerf about to happen that will flame the forums even more. We sit and read the devs addressing others concerns or see that other issues are being addressed (again, whether that is positive or negative) and we feel that we are ignored completely. We are talking to each other, not SOE (because of the complete lack of communication it would appear that either they are not listening or are not concerned) and unfortunately, we cant reassure each other about our class, because none of knows what is happening. The OP was not pointing out what other classes are getting or having taken away, he was pointing out that nowhere is there ever any mention of the Templars.

Does that mean that we're all fixed, and all the other healers are changing around us based on what we are?Basically, yes. We were very good healers from Day 1. Templars have always been the standard to go by in this game in regards to healing power. We still have minor issues to fix, but other priest classes had it far worse than we have. Post expansion is a little different since there was some Shaman fixing with wards. Druids on the other hand are not doing so well. That is quite general, but I didn't want to go into all the details over who has had it worst : )

Well it's good to see that I'm not alone, I'll probably have a heart attack and keel over when I finally scroll down a patch note and see the word Templar.

Kire

Not sure we've been "very good healers from Day 1." Assuming Day 1 is Day of of the expansion when we were lvl 50, I can't agree we were very good healers at all. It was pretty hard for me to adjust to playing the new templar and it was even harder for me to keep my group up even 3 full lvls. It wasn't until 54 when I got my first t6 reactive that I started to feel alright. Then 55 and 56 came and I felt a lot better. I agree we are good healers now, but I had a lot of beef with our class from 50-54. My advice to ppl is if you doubt our skills just wait till 54. No idea why we didn't get even 1 heal before then but its working out now.

And yeah I noticed that also no temp change right hwen I was reading the updates.

Yes, but you're ignoring the fact that the start of any tier is rough going til your heals get upgraded... It was the same way at the beginning of the 40's and 30's. It was hell. That hasn't changed. It's just perceptions have changed about it because of what else went on around the new levels.

The forties seemed to start off right away with upgraded heals...at 40 and again at 42. Seems a shame that at 53 my group could bring along a level 42 and have the same healing capacity. So its not so much that the new tier is rough starting off (after 50), its that maybe they should have started off like the 40s did....one at 52 and one at 54 instead of 54 and 56. I said it another post somewhere, but with our level 40 and 42 spells, we are healing hits from mobs in some cases up to 18 levels below the amount of our heals. Even for the 40s, I would imagine it would be difficult at the upper levels with reduced heals and tougher mobs. Those are some issues that maybe should be addressed.

The point was that healing abilities go in spurts. You get to a point where you outgrow one line of heals and have to wait for the upgrade. And in that growing pains kind of time things are harder. When you go right into one of those times from having not leveled in a while, you're bound to have problems.

The level cap being raised at the same time that an expansion came out at the same time that combat changes of magnitude went into effect all contrived to make one FEEL like our healing capabilities were severely curtailed.

I'm just positing that this may not necessarily be the case, but is instead just one of those lulls between upgrades when things get stretched a little thing.

since the heal spells arent lvling up with us anymore, i have no doubt the spell is uber at incoming 6 lvls and weak after until a new tier heal hit in....

however...as a 53 Templar...i dun feel that our heal is weak at 50-53...maybe need to click abit more different buttons (was 2 buttons before revamp..) but when playing any other class now need to play like keyboard mania anyways...

for me... vs nuking mob - Pacify Mez Smite... interrupt once every 5 sec is good enough... and our 5/8 sec stun... and our extra 12sec pacify.. all can interrupt casting mob like mad...

vs melee - not hard at all if u got a proper tank with some other debuff class that using their debuffs...

51 temp 52 guard 49 brigand can take out 55-57 windsister easily...2 inc also can win...whats the problem then
