I did a search on Focused Benefaction to see how/when/why we should use it and I was unable to come up with much. When is a good time to use this spell? I have used it a couple times but I break out in sweats as I stand there stunned. :smileyhappy: Can anyone give me some tips as to the practical uses of this spell in regular xp groups? Thanks in advance.

Message Edited by notxabbu on 10-12-2005 10:12 AM

When your tank hits low orange/red and their health isn't coming up, hit FB. This spell will stun you but will bring the tank from red to green in a matter of one to two seconds. You can then click on the spell again to get rid of it and the stun if it is required. Its the best "burst healing" spell we have.

Before casting this spell be sure that you are in range of the MT. I have found myself keeping a closer proximity to the main tank at all times just for this spell.

Message Edited by Sinnester on 10-12-2005 10:31 AM

Thanks for the info and quick reply. I didn't realize you could cancel the spell.

use #2: it will bring you to green in solo situations and a also give you a free hit of your manastone. It's my favorite tactic against 3 or 4 (down arrows) Guards in Maj'Dul. Ton's of interrupts, almost dead, kill 2 and hit FB followed by manastone to get more power then let them heal you. It's been fixed to be a very nice signature spell for Templar's at L50

Excellent information, thank you. I think that tactic would have worked great when I was trying to take out searing scorpions last night.

FB is mainly an emergency spell because of the recast timer on it. If you have one spell you need to upgrade, it's this one. The heal is just not high enough to make it usefull at level 50 without adept 3. I've seen a lot of mobs >56 hit more than the reactive given. Adept 1, this spell will be limited to named 52-53(3^) or regular 53-54(3^). With Adept 3, the reactive works for named 53-54(3^) and regular 55-56(3^). Don't have it master 1 yet, so I'm not sure how much better it is but it probably buys you another couple of level of usefullness.

Also, if you get into the REactive stacking mood, you can stack single target reactive, group reactive, and focused benefaction on the tank at same time. Although, if your tank gets hit too fast, your likely to pull aggro hehe.

I have this spell at Master 1, and it's right around the same power as our level 54 master 2 Grander Intersession. But Focused Benefaction has 15 charges. I also find the reuse timer is quite friendly.

As an earlier post stated though, if your tank is getting hit harder then the reactive can handle, the tanks HP bar will still be on the decline...and since you can't cast heals while stunned, this sucks.

My fav use is when i draw aggro from a group of mobs, they are smackign me down pretty fast.. Cast it on myself and "save" myself while the tank regains aggro, click it off, use my 2 specials (insta casts) and everyone is green. Good times, good times Elder

FYI:

If you are under "Sanctuary" (Lv55 Templar spell) effect, you won't get stun and can cast other spells, move anywhere.

Message Edited by Matek on 10-14-2005 01:51 AM

This spell is definitely to be used with grp mobs. I don't use this as much as I want to because I find myself cancelling it more often than not. The reactives usually are not strong enough to stand up to a single heroic or higher mob (the case with all reactives not just FB). In these situations I find the tank staying in the orange or so, but I am stunned so can't throw and instant on him, and have to cancel the spell to catch up on healing. If you have like 4 or 5 mobs, or get a few adds this spell is incredible. Fighting a group of mobs and having the tank in the red.....pop FB, and if there are more than 4 mobs hitting him....his health bar goes to green amazingly fast.

Bigmac, you cant use manastone while this spell is in effect, so, no, it doesnt give you a free manastone. You could cast MS then throw it on but thats not really the same thing.

Atm you can use sanctuary to cast this spell whenver you want and not get stunned, that is going to be nerfed though I'm araid, good combo for the time being use it while you can.

A time I've found this to be great spell is when your low on mana you can cast it and it gives it a little extra time to regen the mana to get off another heal or regular reactive you may not have had the power to get off otherwise.
