subclass quest help

<DIV>my wifes has been trying to do the templar subclass quest for 2 days now.  she can take down the first skeleton but  gets killed  trying to  take the other 3. is there any tips you templars could give to help here do that? ty for any info in advanced  jag</DIV>

really need help with this. is this quest even possible since patch.  all spells and equipment is upgraded.

would like to help you out but it has been a long time since i did it. As you can tell the other templars here are still working through the combat revamp

<P>I think since few of us have done this since the patch, we'll need more information to offer any help.</P> <P>What level is she?  She can receive the quest at 18, but it's probably better to complete it at 19 if she's not there yet.</P> <P>What level are the skeletons?  No arrows, up or down arrows?  What color con are they?</P> <P>What reactives are available?  Is she casting her two best before pulling?</P> <P>Does she have her concentration buffs up?</P> <P>Does she have skeleton master's smite available, and if so, remember to use it?</P> <P>Has she tried buying and using a mana regeneration potion appropriate for her level?</P> <P>How about using a health regeneration potion or hex doll in her second activatable slot to help out?</P> <P>How much mana is left when she runs out of hit points?  If a lot of mana is left, can she do more</P> <P>casting of her best single reactive between smites?  I often find that in a group fight, I need to</P> <P>cast one complete H.O., followed by my best single reactive, then another H.O.  Continue that cycle.</P> <P>Speaking of H.O.s, does she understand them and how to correctly trigger one?</P> <P>Remember that after the patch you need to use your best smites to trigger an H.O</P> <P>rather than your mana cheapest, as this will improve the final bonus smite.</P> <P>What does she use to pull with?  If skeleton master's smite is available, use that as it</P> <P>adds a slight debuff to the target.   It's on a 2 minute timer now, so if the fight lasts longer than</P> <P>that she can use it again, and if longer than 4 minutes she can use it a third time.</P> <P>She might consider pulling with Mark of Pawns to get that extra healing effect,  If she doesn't pull with Mark, remember to cast</P> <P>it on each target in turn as she fights it.</P> <P>Weakness used to be a group debuff that was good to pull with, but I don't believe it has a group effect any longer.</P> <P>Correct me if I'm wrong on that.</P> <P>If you happen to have a lot of gold, a possible solution is to shop for a Divinely Imbued wand of the appropriate level.   If mana shortage is the problem, the advantage of a wand is that it uses no power, so all power is used for healing, and it can't be interrupted or fizzle, so it always hits.   The downside is a ten second reuse timer, which is a long time compared to an H.O.   The cycle then becomes:  Use the wand, cast reactive, use the wand, cast reactive, repeat.  If the reactive can't keep up with 10 seconds worth of damage, then add in a direct heal to make up the difference.  </P> <P>A tier 4 wand sells for 10 to 15 gold, so you'll have to shop to see what it sells for at tier 2.   On the other hand, it's the best gold I've ever spent because it gets me through a lot of fights that would be unwinnable any other way.</P> <P>Please add any other pertinent info you can think of, and we'll try to come up with a workable plan.</P> <P>By the way, if you've never used the activatable slots (I know I hadn't for a long time) here is the procedure:  From an open bag drag an icon of the potion to an empty activitable slot.  Then drag it from the slot to an empty space on your hotbar.  When you want to use it, click the hotbar icon or press the appropriate key.  In the case of a wand, equip it as a weapon and drag the icon from there to the hotbar.  I always drag it to a spot on the primary hotbar, next to my best reactive, so they can be used one after the other with two keystrokes.</P> <P><SPAN class=time_text><BR>Edited to add a few more suggestions.</SPAN></P> <P><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN> </P><p>Message Edited by El Conquistador on <span class=date_text>09-20-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:10 AM</span>
