<DIV>Well I tried search but the board says "Sorry too many searhes in progress".</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>/boggle</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway, I just got SP and I am curious how you all use it.  It does not seem to heal as much as BOV Adept3 that I use as my mainstay in groups.  When doing the Zek and EL quests yestarday, I found myself using SP while I waited for BOV to recycle when we were killing the boss mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Interested in how you all use this and or if the way that I am using it is the accepted method.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV>

<DIV>At 36, I still only use it while waiting for BoV to recycle. Sad really.</DIV>

<DIV>I never used it til about 36-37 when I upgraded it to Adept 3.  Now it heals 174 vs 131 against BoV.</DIV> <DIV><BR>Alexius Legend</DIV> <DIV>42 Templar, Antonia Bayle</DIV>

<DIV>So basically high 30s, get adept 3, and its better?</DIV>

<DIV>I've followed Gwynet's discussion of SP since her first posts about it, and had just now come to the Templar boards planning to start a thread asking weather it ever catches up to BoV either in terms of efficiency or effectiveness.  Seems we have differing viewpoints here.  Does it in fact surpass BoV in heals per charge in the mid-later 30's at Adept III?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Overall, I agree with Gwynet that the notion of using a level 12 spell as the primary for the next 20+ levels is unexpected and ridiculous.   </DIV>

That the system might actually be working as intended doesn't make me feel better either. I haven't logged on for 3 weeks now, and to be honest I'm still undecided on whether I am going to pay for another month or not. This system (among other things) just seems really wrong for me. So I guess the update will help me to make up my mind.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, I'll just add that I never got the opportunity to buy the adept 3 of SP, just because the prices are insane on my server.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Gwynet on <span class=date_text>12-31-2004</span> <span class=time_text>10:10 AM</span>

<DIV>I'm not happy with it.  I use it sometimes when waiting for Bov to cycle, or as an additional measure of safety for a hard pull.  But overall, I agree with Gwynet that a spell received at level 26 should be an upgrade.</DIV>

<DIV>so when we get to lev 40, are we supposed to wait for the next expansion when the 50+ levels are opened up to make the spells we gain between 35-50 usable?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I'm level 30 and have an adept 3 of both SP and BoV.  BoV costs 62 power, SP costs 88 power (41.9% more than BoV) and heal for approximately the same amount as BoV.</DIV>

<DIV>I am level 29, with Adept 3 of BoV and SP.</DIV> <DIV>BoV was healing for 134 for 63 power.</DIV> <DIV>SP heals for 138 per hit for 85 power.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With the differing power costs, BoV is obviously more efficient at this point, but SP is already doing MORE heals per tick.</DIV> <DIV>So, it all depends if the group is going to wipe because you ran out of power (use BoV) or because the tank ran out of health (use SP).</DIV>

<DIV>At 28, I use SP with combat healing touch up, ac debuff, ae weakness and mark.  With mark on and the combined ac buffs from SP and combat healing, I believe my efficiency is better than if I went with BoV.  There are alot of naysayers to this strategy but my power bar doesn't lie.  This is with BoV and SP at app3.  BoV heals for 103 per hit at this level and spell rank and SP heals for 102 per hit at this level and spell rank.  What most don't take into account are the ac buffs given with our heals and our other debuffs that help mold our strategy into something that works better than if we were using BoV as our mainstay.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I guess it depends on what rank of spells you have.  If you have an adept 3 BoV then it might be better to use that reactive longer than I did.  If you have an adept 3 SP it might be better to use that spell sooner.  At app3 in both at level 28, I use SP almost exclusively.  Unless I have to keep a non-tank up.  Then I might throw down a BoV on another target while SP is refreshing just to keep my healing cost lower (since a mage isn't going to see much benefit from a random reactive ac buff) as a tank would...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just my thoughts.</DIV>

<DIV>Actually i like throwing both at the main tank before battle. Seems to me that that only one of them is hit at a time e.g cast SP and BoV and the SP will go down first giving the tank the AC buff and BoV will protect himher afterwards. This give me plenty of time to debuff and cast combat heal on tank for that small buff as well before i refresh SP keeping the tank alive rest of the fight.</DIV>

SP is one of those spells that you must upgrade or discard. At apprentice 1 it was healing for less than 80hp/tick. I was going to discard it but since intercession (adept 3) is broken and I had the inks available I decided to update SP to adept 3 and I was extremely happy. In the final heal (adept 3 for both) supplicants prayer throws out 200hp additional healing while BoV throws out about 160.BoV total = 706 totalSP = 752 totalSP also boosts the tanks AC so yeah, I use it now constantly. It's especially nice with intercession and BoV (intercession + SP + BoV) = around 300hp/hit healed for 8 hits. now that's some healing power.

<DIV>I've been sorting through some of the posts here about BoV vs. SP, well this is my experience.</DIV> <DIV><BR>I'm lvl 33 fighting mainly in RE, some RV, Zek and EL.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>BoV, Adept I</DIV> <DIV>SP, Adept I</DIV> <DIV>Intercession, Adept I</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(where you all finding Adept 3's btw !!) - Lucky [Removed for Content]!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If heavy hitters or large group, I'll slap Intercession on group before pull, (then tank waits for my power to tick up to full - if tank doesn't understand this, and lets Intercession fade too much, I'll slap another Intercession, or if about to pull, I'll just start with SP).  I don't like having Intercession or SP hit too soon after pull because of agro.  (I've noticed this more a problem with non-goblins though, in the case of when I'm in RE).  After agro achieved, I'll slap an AC debuff, cast SP (to refresh reactive on tank), group STR Debuff, then refresh SP again on tank and/or cast another Intercession.  I rarely use direct healing spells, unless battle is intense.  (since intercession is on, it helps a lot)  By this time, usually the 1st target is dead, so I'll cast AC debuff on next target and cycle SP on tank or Intercession.  Sometimes I have fun with AE DD spell, or I'll Mark of Pawns.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I rarely have Power problems, even without bard, necro, or enchanter, and never need a 2nd healer in group. (although it makes it a sleep walk if I do)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Buy yourself GLACIER Water in EL.  It's 92silver a stack, but man, does wonders for Power refresh.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Am I crazy, or is this how others operate?  (I never use BoV anymore)</DIV>

<DIV>I'd have them made if I could find someone to make them for me.  Our very high guild spell maker can't make templar spells, and the guildie that can, is only lvl 28 atm.  I was hoping for SP Adept 3, and maybe some of my buff spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I guess I've just been looking for someone to have them already made, rather than having to figure out which rare I need and what type of person to find to make them, etc.. (and having to deal with someone I don't exactly know.)  I check the brokers constantly and never see Templar Adept 3's on Kithicor Server.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does anyone have a link to which rares I need for which level spells?  And what exact level of craftsman I need to have them?  And what other "sub" components are needed to make the spell, so I can just bring all the "raw" supplies to the maker.  (ex, inks, etc..)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any help would be appreciated.</DIV>
