<DIV>In the past two days I've grouped with two different sets of players who have had no idea that Templars were a Priest archetypt. One group was players that were levels 15-19 and the other group was all players over 20. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Do I play this game too much because I know what every class does? Has anyone else had this hapen to them? Are we Templars so few that this arises on a regular basis?</DIV>
hehehehe <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Because we have cool complex name for s-class. That's why I always use Class/Sclass when LFG.I play both Cleric and Troubadour, I don't think people know that Trou is a Bard subclass unless they have been reading up. I usually just put Bard/Troubadour....

<DIV>I don't think I would want to be in a group if they didn't know what I was :smileyvery-happy::smileyindifferent:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As far as Bard/Dirge goes. I had a ranger that kept opening all the chest drops. I aksed to take turns and he goes "bards arent supposed to open chests" I kindly replied "We are a scout class and have disarm too ya know" </DIV>

<DIV>On my server Templars are probably the most common Qeynos priest type (no facts - just seems that way).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If a group let me join and did not know I was a priest (healer) type I would be very worried! What did they think I was going to do? My dps is laughable, my taunt is low (unless I cast some group buffs during a pull) and tanking, well I sure would not last long especially in a group that thought I was a tank they likely has the bard as main healer....</DIV>

I would've brought out the sarcasm that I've been fermenting in my cellar for the last 3 years if I'd been in your position. Even if I didn't know for sure which was which in the fighter/scout/mage areas at first, I at least knew of Templar/Inquis, Mystic/Defiler and Warden/Fury - I think it's a bit rude not to at least find out that basic info about your own archetype. Although, having said that I did keep missing the fact that we had a Warden once and when recruiting I suggested we should get a second healer... kind of embarassing :smileyindifferent:

<DIV>No nick, you aren't playing this game too much just because you know all the classes, you're just paying attention. I agree with the mentality that you should one atleast know all of the classes and subclasses in your archtype (ie all the priests, etc), and its not much of a step to learn the others. I don't know everything about all the classes, but I have a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] good idea. I highly recommend this to avoid situations like I was in the other day... MT leaves, we need a new one as there are only mages and scouts left, with me as the healer. A bard shouts LFG, so they grab him and expect him to tank, eventhough looking at his HP on the group window, you could guess that he wasn't a tank (only 500). Twas scary, I was sitting at nearly double that. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is helpful to know a bit about all the classes though, enough to know when they aren't playing well, or properly at all. Example: A shaman I was grouped with one time who wasn't casting wards, I asked em why he wasn't and was promptly told to [Removed for Content] and play my own class because I ''odviously'' didn't know anything about his. Was funny, within the next few min everyone else started comming up with excuses as to suddenly having to leave. You don't have to be a know it all, but just be smart enough to know that the situation is about to get very bad and you should get the hell outta there! There is little more dangerous than a clueless player, don't get me wrong, I don't claim to know everything, no expect others to. I feel that I know my class pretty well, but always have room to learn or for improvement. As we've all seen, likely numerous times, one [Removed for Content] can cause wipes...repeatedly...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Random group member: "Oooooo a named!"</DIV> <DIV>Me: "sweet, we'll get him after we finish off these 2 white ^^s..."</DIV> <DIV>Random group member: "But someone might snag it, we've gotta atleast grab it!"</DIV> <DIV>Me: "Um, there's no way in hell we'll be able to fight all of them, we're having enough of a time with these two, lets just finish..."</DIV> <DIV>Random group member: "incomming Cloven Chiptooth, (and some cutsy phrase following)"</DIV> <DIV>Me: "(@%^@(%^(@#...RUN!"</DIV> <DIV>Random group member: "why we can take em"</DIV> <DIV>Tank dies...2 seconds later wizzy dies</DIV> <DIV>Random group member: "[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]!?! HEAL!!!" ... "hey where'd you go???"</DIV> <DIV>Loading zone: Blackburrow...</DIV> <DIV><BR>I explained (as well as the rest of the group) that that was a bad thing to pull a named while engaged, but he was of the mindset that it was my fault as a crappy healer, so "more important things came up" and another name was added to my ignore list. One of my favorite T-shirts has the phrase "Stupid people are dangerous in large numbers...well the same is true about only one or two! :smileywink:</DIV>

<DIV>I've never run into a party that didnt know i was a healer, I think being a healer is exactly why iI have been invited in to most groups! We are everyones best friend!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>:smileywink:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Teclis</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>L21 Templar</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Najena</DIV>
