<DIV>I'm 19th lvl cleric, soon to be Templar.  This is the first time I have played a cleric, so I was hoping you all could give me your opinion as to which spells you would use, and on who in the below situation:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>you are with a group of 5 (including yourself)</DIV> <DIV>You have:</DIV> <DIV>yourself</DIV> <DIV>strong tank</DIV> <DIV>enchanter</DIV> <DIV>druid</DIV> <DIV>crusader</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(all 20th level)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, your group is up against a group of 5 level 20 - 21 gnolls (or whatever)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Your tank is about to pull,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What do you cast for debuffs?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At the moment, i cast courage & symbol/transal on the group before hand, and then I cast soothing sermon immediately before the pull.  From then on I just heal as needed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Are there other spells I should be casting before hand and stacking?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV>

<DIV>Rebuke is good, to cast, it lowers magic mitigation of the mob, so your nukers can hit for more.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If the mob is hititng your tank pretty hard, throw a weakness on it to lower its strength.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Another thing I liek to do is cast bistowal of vitae on the tank as soon as he pulls, so I can throw a few nukes in before I need to spend all my time healing the tank.</DIV>

When pulling a group of 5 mobs your best ally is your reactive heal and rebuke. Rebuke will drop the AC of the tanks target (you do use implied targeting right?) and will speed up the kills. For healing burst, add in the "end of fight group heal when mob dies spell that I can never remember its name" on each of the five when your tank targets them. You will soon get your group target debuffs which will make your world easier.

<DIV>"implied target"</DIV> <DIV>I know what you mean, but I did not do this with rebuke.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Are you saying I should be casting Rebuke on the tank?</DIV>

Yes. When you target your tank any detrimental spells will hit his opponent and any beneficial spells will hit him. No need to target the mob, just your tank.I think at 20 you'll find weakness sticks as does rebuke.
