View Full Version : Cure Trauma. Cure Noxious. Cure Elemental

<DIV>Up until now, when a party member became afflicted with one of these ailments during combat, I would immediately remove said ailment.  Increasingly however, I'm finding I don't have the time and power.  I'm debuffing, healing, completing an HO, etc.  This is at level 22.  Do you remove these during combat?  I've asked the tanks how much damage the noxious ailment they had was doing but I'm not getting a good answer.  I really don't know if it's worth casting during combat.  Thanks</DIV>

I never use them during combat, but use them after to clean trap effects, or long lasting dots put on the MT.The recast is catastrophic on those so curing more than 1 party member during fight is not an option, and usually the MT gets sufficient healing t not bother about dots (yet).

<DIV><FONT face=Garamond size=4>I am going to take those off my primary toolbar for combat because i don't use those often at all. Like someone else noted, I really only use them to clean up after a trap is opened or if my tank has the dot for a long time.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Yeah the recast and power usage are really harsh on these spells; I use Noxious and Arcane, mostly.  Trauma is a joke; most tanks auto-heal themselves trauma-wise before I can even think of casting the spell.  Sometimes elemental dots are nasty, but not usually.  Also because of the long recast, elemental caster mobs will reapply 2 or 3 levels of dots faster than I can strip 2, so its not worth it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-- Nyatar</DIV>

<DIV>THey really need to be group cures to be worthwhile.  I will occasional use the cure poison/disease on the tank, but not unless its really stacking up. Mostly a waste imo.</DIV>

<DIV>Cure trauma is completely worthless.  Cure arcane is mostly worthless, especially since last I checked it can remove your own reactive heal.  Cure elemental and noxious I use fairly often when I have the power and the effect is bad enough.</DIV>

I agree with one of the other posts: cure elemental only seems to remove the icon from the MT about 1 out of every 10 casts. Not sure why.I've started to cast these spells at the end of the fight. To much stuff going on in the middle of battle to worry about the cure line.

<DIV>I have these Cure effects on a seperate hotbar. I use them during combat to clear poison or element effects off the tank. The viscious wounds effect doesn't seem to last very long to warrant it's removal. </DIV>

<DIV>          I hate to bring up a thread that's been inactive a few days but: While I agree Cure Trauma is practically useless, as it's never seen 30+ (Maybe why it's grey con instead of white like the others?), Cure Noxious and Cure Elemental are all-too-handy. Many caster type mobs do AE, or even target elemental or poison DoTs. What makes these spells more annoying then the damage, is the chance of interruption. A quick Cure Noxious or Cure Elemental in between heals can add to the efficiency of other members in the party. While others might not use it, I can't imagine fighting caster mobs without them. Why heal the 150 per tick damage, when you can purge the DoT with a quick-cast spell that costs relatively low power? Also - alot of these status effects aren't just damage related, strength/AC debuffs are common, so clearing these will have obvious effect. /shrug, just don't overlook obscure powers, they can make the difference.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Auria on <span class=date_text>12-18-2004</span> <span class=time_text>01:18 AM</span>
