I've seen this complaint alot... i believe it is called a 'FUN SPELL'. Who really cares. Take a look at what the monk gets and before you complain. And about that stupid horse head into ts and look at how many paladin /SK's actually use the thing.

<DIV>I'm a Templar on the roleplaying server Lucan DLere, so detect evil is actually kind of interesting there. But I guess if I were in a less roleplaying environment I would dislike it too.</DIV>

Ok, making my original point more directly. What is the real advantage of the mount among the other funspells? Is he more effective in combat because he has the fluff of a mount that gives the speed increase of the jboots that came free with advance orders (at best)? When someone gets a fun spell that gives them direct damage in combat, out of combat regen increase, or the ability to flee faster, then i will consider the argument that funspells are unbalanced. All i see are complaints that are cannot be substantiated. The fact you dont think yours is as cool as someone elses may be a viable argument, but stop looking for arguments as to effectiveness.

Yes they are more effective in combat. Why you ask..Well when a fight goes south, a fighter is usually the one that has the mob chasing them. Without a horse, a person has to use sprint to put distance between them and the monster, which consumers power that they may or may not have. With a horse they can escape from a confrontation regardless of their power levels. While Im sure it seems minor, this has saved my Pally travelling partners butt quite a few times. Gailin

<DIV>Lets try to put things in perspective. The "fun" spells are supposed to be fun and add some enjoyment to the game. Myself I don't find the spells add add anything to the game and many people share my view. So some healthy complaining is good and it is about something that isn't all that important so no big deal. Bless sounds like I might actually use it and be a little fun. Detect Evil sound pretty useless except for roleplaying characters.</DIV>

<DIV>I have tried all 3 of the spells and after experimenting with them, they are all tucked away safely on the last page of my spell book. I have high hopes that our level 44 pet will bring a change to this. </DIV>
I think the fun spells were put in hurry around 2 weeks b4 release. Because so many players (beta and non-beta) complained that there were little diversity betweeneach subclasses. So not long after the huge complaints, SOE release the fun spells. I guess something that you come up in a few days time to satisfy players - looks great on paper.Once you actually see the real usage of the fun spells, it sucks. It sucks that it is a bug that made pally/sk's summon horse way faster, but oh well, no pointcrying for it now. The chance of us being bumped in fun spell usefulness is 0.0001%

<DIV>Detect evil and bless... I haven't even wasted money on them. The bow spell was such a waste I've not even touched the rest.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Holy Acolyte and Holy Aura are very nice spells though <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> and Create Holy Symbol isn't too bad. I posted a thread about getting Detect Evil for free, via macro use, so don't waste your money on it, just use my macro. thread: "Detect Evil : )" </DIV>
