L24: Combative Faith

<DIV>Does anyone find getting this spell useful yet?   I got this at L24 -</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With Aprentice III ASmite  - I'm doing roughly 100 pts of damage.</DIV> <DIV>With <STRONG>Adept I</STRONG> Combative Faith - I'm doing 110'is pts of damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Combative faith takes roughly 2x the mana of ASmite.  Why on earth would i ever used Combative faith?  Assuming the spell increases in damage (and mana usage) over the next few levels.  That's still pretty **mods 4 teh win!!1!**ty. That means i need to wait a few levels until this thing is even remotely useful?  What happens to our L50 spells? Do we get them pregimped?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>argh</DIV>

I would most definately have to disagree with you on the usefulness of this spell. I use it in every fight because it does more than double the damage of any of the nuke type spell we have. You are just comparing the first ~100 dmg that each spell does but Combative Faith then adds almost 150 extra damage with its DoT effect (3 hits for 40-50dmg each). It has a long recast and you cannot use it in personal HO but I always use it pull mobs when I am soloing and also use it in groups since it does so much damage.

<DIV>Yeah don't forget the DoT. I always use it, even when I solo while my spells are recharging. Also, it's one of the spell that has the adept 1 pretty easily available on my server.</DIV>

<DIV>Yeah the description is totally inaccurate. Basically, I get a 120ish nuke, plus 3 ticks at 60ish now.</DIV>

<DIV>depends on the mob but on average it hits for 174 outright with 68 per tick (for three ticks) -- the only complaint I have is that I can't chain nuke with it =p which would be over powering heh. So far I would say it's one of our best damage spells. (this is at level 32 and I don't generally cast it unless the mob is rebuked first)</DIV>
