<DIV>Hehe have fun with your scout, they are great. I agree that being a templar is pretty stressful sometimes.</DIV>

Scouts are fun <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Enjoy it man, having fun is the name of the game.

<DIV>Being a healer of any type in any mmo is stressful hehe. You're the single point of failure. Well, maybe the tank is a tie for the single point of failure in an mmo group. You die, everyone dies. Tank dies, well hopefully they have some time to run before it comes to that. And go afk? As a healer? Heh... not unless you're in a very safe place or completely irresponsible. I've actually watched afk groups wipe and was asked to come revive them. Not pretty.</DIV>

<DIV>Templar is a bit stressfull. Especially when you are the sole healer. IMO, you need a back-up healer.....Druid shammy etc. It was probably the developers intent to be this way. So far I see a lot of posts of people who's complaints seem to reflect their expectation that Templar is to be played as cleric was in EQ 1. This is an entirely different game. Each class has its own strengths different from those of EQ 1. Looking at all the class forums, all of the classes has a [Removed for Content] too :smileywink:</DIV>

<DIV>Last night started out great for me. I made 25% of my level in the same group killing two up arrow reds with little to no problems.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then, with no changes whatsoever, the night turned bad and we wiped out twice and then I died twice more on my own. It kinda made me mad the second time I died because the group leader disbanded me because he didn't 'want the debt'. I was speechless. When he was off pulling and died, I took the debt for him, but when I lose invis and get aggro, he doesnt have to share mine? What a crock. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyhow I still love being a templar. But realistically our heals do need a once over.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I've just made templar and I've got a 19 Predator. They are both fun. You might enjoy Scout more but expect to get beat on a lot more and you'll have a lot more trouble finding a group. Everybody loves a healer.</DIV>
<DIV>Aye, tis an interesting life we lead.</DIV>

You were in a group and its not your job to keep everyone healed. Its your job to keep the main tank up. Everyone else should be managing their aggro more effectively. Sometimes guild groups I am in wipe (even after a/yell to break) but more times than not its due to situations. You can not control spawns that pop on you or the roamers that decide to jump in sometimes. So brother keep the faith and to the people out there that blame you for a wipe. Its a group oriented game and I would tell them find another group or waste a stone and port them out of there hehe.

I was in a group in TS where we got hounded by random spawns that eventually wiped out our group. In those situations its not the fault of the healer that the group dies..just bad luck. Nothing more frustrating than beating a mob up and have one or two more spawn on you just after the first fight.</P> <P>Also, I too consider it my job to keep the tank healed. If other players in the group get too "trigger" happy lets say and manage to get the attention of the creature we're fighting then I try my best to keep that person alive but not at the expense of depleting my power bar of getting the tank killed. People in a group need to know how to fight as a group. Let everyone do their jobs and the group will be fine.<BR></P>

<DIV>I was grouped in TS last night as a 22 Templar. Grouped with a Fury I was able to keep heals on the tank (26 SK) through 3 mobs Red^^ Without the help we would have wiped. I think SOE has made the Templar so he/she has to work as a team with another healer type class. I am not sure what heal type spell we'll have in the future... but I would hope SOE introduces a CH.</DIV>

<DIV>Please no CHeal... Then they will start designing fights like Xegony and all teh clerics will quit... I love the Templar class so far, you can solo, group, anything you like... Also remember to keep your spells current... around that 20 mark,if you can pick up BoV Adept 3, you can solo heal a group np!...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Delornden</DIV> <DIV>24 Templar of Black Burrow</DIV>

<DIV>I don't even want to think about CH chains.......High blood pressure from a game isn't good. </DIV>
<DIV>Im sad to hear that youre leaving after a few deaths, it happens, and it will continue to happen. Your a healer, not a god. You cant keep everyone alive at all times. Sometimes roamers come in, or something just goes horridly wrong. Even Ive done some silly things, which I laugh at now. The other night I got into my guild group, we began the fight, and my little **mods 4 teh win!!1!** kitty came along and decided it was time to get off the PC. Bloop, she hit the reset button while rubbing against my feet. It was not good, since the MT had just pulled an orange mob with another in the group. Was funny afterwards though, a little debt never hurt. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Death is apart of any game, deal with it!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For the love of all that isnt broken, PLEASE dont even mention a CH. I dont even want to think about it. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I've found that there is a serious lack of AC on fighters between about 17 and 22. In addition to that, StrongHold is easy to get wiped on. Once you hit 24ish, I think it gets a lot easier. I've dabled in scout and warrior. Both are a totally different game. I wish you luck on whatever you do.BakerJoe27 templar/28 provisioner Nektulos

<DIV>CH will never be in EQ2. Moorgard stressed many times how that was a mistake in EQ1. They designed EQ2 to never have CH.</DIV>

<DIV>What the heck is CH? LOL in SWG that was a Creature Handler. /shrug</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yeah, I don't think we get enough credit most of the time. I rarely ever get a "thanks" from over-nukking casters, a scout running backwards into an add. An over agressive tank pulling too high a level stuff. Kinda bums me out. yet, sometimes they get mad at ya when you say RUN or ZONE because you know you won't be able to make it through the fight. As healers shouldn't we have the ultimate say on the "time to git" button? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>a tank and a healer are necessities, all the other classes are mere toys and luxuries. I have a bard and sorcerer, they are cake to play.(and fun mind you). </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Simple things I wish more people would do:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. make a pull/inc macro. type /g INC %T or /g pulling %T </DIV> <DIV>2. don't go running off leaving the rest of the group behind and getting yourself in trouble</DIV> <DIV>3. don't go pulling things as a caster!</DIV> <DIV>4. pullers pull mobs to the group instead of expecting the group to come to you.</DIV> <DIV>5. jumping off cliffs like your some sort evil kinevil and getting yourself killed or agroed causes the rest of us more stress and possible debt</DIV> <DIV>6. SPAM pulling even when you see the group, especially the healer OOM.</DIV> <DIV>7. sorry, I just get frustrated with all the dumb things people do. </DIV>

CH = Complete Heal
..All the dumb things people do are what makes it fun....there is NOTHING more satisfying than surviving an encounter that you really shouldnt have survived <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />and complete heal should be considered a blasphemous word tbh...gahBack on topic, sorry to hear the healer's job isnt for you, personally for me its the only job in this game that gives you, and the poor tank who hit's purple before the heal lands the biggest rush <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Lutok/Cedok et al<p>Message Edited by Lutok on <span class=date_text>12-14-2004</span> <span class=time_text>01:56 AM</span>

<DIV><FONT size=3>Well if no CH is introduced... I'll still be happy playing the Templar. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></FONT></DIV>
<DIV>Last night our Cleric decided to stop healing in the middle of battle because "...I'm on call tonight and I got a phone call so I can to walk away from the game". Our tank died and we all shared the XP debt. I suggested that he changed his EQ2 career to something else...like an Artisan.</DIV>
<DIV>I think a healer should only feel guilty if he loses the MT on a reasonable pull (ie. one that typically everyone in the group knows from past experience is doable.) and said healer is not out of mana when the MT goes down. (That means you didn't keep up, or weren't paying enough attention.)</DIV> <DIV>Then it's the healer's fault. Otherwise, it was a pull that you could not possibly have kept people alive on, so there is no reason to feel guilty.</DIV> <DIV>It's not the cleric's job to fix an out of control pull. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anytime I've lost someone in the group, it's because we got tagged with random adds, or the original pull was too much for the group to handle anyway, and I ended up OOM keeping the MT healed.</DIV> <DIV>In those cases it's easy to send a message telling the group they should break and run for zone since I'm running out of juice before MT actually dies.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In these cases, everyone understands that the situation was untenable, and no one lays undue blame on the poor healer. You just take your lumps and move on to the next fight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I wouldn't give up if I were you, but if you feel happier with another class, it's you're call of course.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Venin</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>My only problem with templar (well, any primary healing class really) is that if I need to log for any reason I am leaving my group high and dry without a healer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Man, they can really lay the guilt trip on yah <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
<DIV>LOL. I wouldn't worry about that up218.</DIV> <DIV>Sure, they are bummed, but if you have to log, you have to log. What are they going to do, not group with you next time because you left? They will always need a healer, and if you are a good one, they'll always want you back the next time you show up.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well, that's been my experience anyway, and most people, while bummed you are logging, are usually very understanding that you are human, and actually need to sleep, and/or attend to your real life.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Venin</DIV> <DIV>Level 21 Templar</DIV> <DIV>Neriak</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>This is a great thread..I happened to check out this forum because I'm currently a L22 Warden, suffering from the old EQ1 prejudice of 'the only good healer is a Cleric'. I've been considering wiping the Druid and coming back as a cleric. I am pleased (well, pleased isn't realy the right word) to see that the Templars have the same healing issues I do. I have the same basic heals as you guys (remember we were all priests) but my Warden spells ROCK in combination with a Templar.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I take it personally when the group dies too...and play an enchanter for stress relief. There's no better job in game than healer, I think. Also, I'm very into the 'sleep off debt' program. When you've had enough...go to SLEEP...in the AM your debt will have lessened a bit, and you can think more clearly.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanks for letting me 'visit'. I'll keep working on the Warden..<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
