Templar Hallmark Quest SpoilerI'm going through the whole Qeynos Templar Hallmark quest here that I did last night.I promise you will need help. This quest starts with Aurora outside the Temple of Life in North Qeynos. You can only start it at level 18 or above. You get a message at 19 that you need to see Aurora. The quest NPC asks you to kill 3 types of bloodsabers in Vermin's Snye. They want a type of parchment from each, so multiple killings of each type is probably required. (these are flags so can be done in group and all can get a flag) (not all mobs drop the flag 1st try so multiple kills are required.)The bloodsabers are from the "UPPER" exit of the entrance area as you enter Vermin's Snye. You will need a group. They were green at 19, but + and multiple, so they are impossible solo. It did not take too long to get my drops and only one death lol. Then go back to Aurora in NQ.She sends you back into Vermin's Snye to find "Sir Wembly's Tomb". You are supposed to stop the bloodsabers from turning him into an undead. This tomb is beyond the catacombs full of skeletons in Vermin's Snye. You go to this area on the BOTTOM corridor of the zone in. ( Warning - there is a grate below to another zone at the entrance area. This is not the instanced zone and you will die quickly if you attempt it at 19) There are multiple groups of skeletons on the way to wembly, with tombs and coffins in it. When you see some skeleton priests you are getting close. Go through all of the rooms and corridors. You will be back in the normal one way tunnel style of the rest of Vermin's Snye. Follow that to a dead-end room that is the same type of room as the entrance to the dungeon, and the entrance to Crypt of Betrayal. Meaning it looks like the zone in to downbelow and Vermin's Snye with water below and a stairway going up. Now if you are with a non-cleric that's not on this part of the quest, it will appear to be merely a dead-end, but go UP and the door at the top is "clickable". You will zone in alone, and into a solo instance. Be sure the group that came with you can handle the area alone as skellies roam the stairs. Most were green at 19 and solo mobs though.Once in the solo instance, you will see a wandering solo skeleton that is covered in flames,(be ready for lag due to flames) he will be straight ahead between rows of coffins. Down both sides of you there will be two groups skeletons that are on the coffins, just pull the single roamer that was even con at 19 and nothing will add. Next rest up and get your power back to full. Then walk between the mobs on the coffins (they did not aggro me in beta). Then you will have an encounter with three blue group single-down-arrow skeletons covered in fire. (be prepared for lag as the graphics are nice but eat up your fps once again) The wanderer will re-pop soon so as fast as you get power back from killing the three move to the main named mob at the altar. The named fight was really easy after all the others. He is a caster and tried nuking a lot but I ran my HO and he dropped like a rock without me needing heals. You get a message that your journal was updated and you will see the roamer re-pop around now but if behind the altar he should walk away as he did on me. You can then exit the instance through the exit close to where you killed the named or at this point gate out like I did. Then just go back out to NQ to finish up and get a nice 1hb sceptre useable at 19. Yes that means I need a stupid shield now lol. Again no idea whats changed since beta but this was how I did it then. You will need a group for both parts in VS as it has linked mobs. If you have a friend who is level 25 plus that can group with you you can completely avoid all skelly aggro to instanced zone. Just an update: Completed it again this weekend and it worked the same as in beta. Going to the instanced zone I had a level 20 Guardian and 17 Bard with me and it was all no aggro so changes must have been done there. Also the Bloodsabers now seem to pop in the down below to ambush you instead of VS. Thats a tough twist if you zone and leave them for young players as they were blue to me at 19. Also I do suggest you get 19 before doing the instanced zone. Its nice to have adepts and full spells going in.<p>Message Edited by Magistrate on <span class=date_text>11-22-2004</span> <span class=time_text>07:40 AM</span>

<DIV> <P>Just a bit more information to this quest.</P> <P>I found a helpful map for <A href="http://dariys.home.comcast.net/EQ2/maps/vermins.jpg" target=_blank>Vermin’s Snye</A> ( http://dariys.home.comcast.net/EQ2/maps/vermins.jpg )</P> <P>The door to Sir Wimbly’s Tomb is at the North West end, the one not marked as the Crypt zone area, and you must left click it to enter.</P> <P>I did the quest as soon as I turned 17th level, and it was a big challenge. I would wait until mid 17th when you get the improved Smite spell, as the extra damage would have made the fight a lot easier.</P> <P>Hope this helps.</P> <P>Lanla, Hunter of Gnolls (Steamfont)</P></DIV>
<DIV>Is the whole quest doable solo? Or am I gonna need a crew to go with? And last question, if I do need a group to help, what parts can I do solo and what parts do I need them?</DIV>

<DIV>I would suggest waiting until at least level 18.5 before attempting this solo. You get Admonishing Smite at the min-ding which helps a lot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You get a weapon as the reward for this quest, so don't bother purchasing a new one prior.</DIV>
<DIV>But this is something I can do solo? Thats good to know hehe. Im almost 19 as is, so I can do this on the weekend. Just needed to know if I needed to bring people with me.</DIV>

<DIV>I tried this at 18 and had trouble finishing because I'd run out of MP.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I didn't have the improved smite spell and my gear isn't all that great. The even con, was yellow and the blue cons were white,...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Unless you have great gear, I'd wait until lv. 19.</DIV>

Did it at 18.3 (had done it in beta before). I had some problems with one very resistant mob (yellow skeleton). I just /y'ed it to get the full mana regen and killed it. I believe the only mob you can't /y is the final boss.

<DIV>Now I am confused. The original poster in the last paragraph specifically says you will need a group in two parts of the quest. Yet others seem to be saying that it can be soloed -- Since the developers have said that you can solo all the way to 50 if you want, the hallmark quests should be soloable, but I have heard that several of them are not.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So which is it in this case -- solo the whole thing, or need two groups to help? Thanks</DIV>
<DIV>Im having a heck of a time doing this solo at 19. Im in Vermins Snye and I need all three parts from the Bloodsabers. Sure the Bloodsabers are green, but they come in groups of three. I can kill one but run out of power before dropping the second. I don't know how it can be said that this is super easy solo because even though maybe some can, not everyone can. </DIV>

Only the last part can you solo - in fact you MUST do it solo - even then you should probably bring a high level dude with you to lead you past all the stuff that would normally agro on you so you can find the entrance to the Crypt of Betrayal easily.I did the last part fairly easily; I didn't have to /y at all during it, but some of the fights were tough and exciting (ie, I nearly died). If you are careful you can do it easily though. By the time you kill the sorcerer at the end of the crypt, the flaming skele will respawn, but thats ok, just gate out using your "call to qeynos" spell.I REALLY enjoyed this quest. It really made me feel like I earned my Templar rank and didn't just lvl up to it. Kudos to SOE for a good quest.BTW, once you finish this quest, go to Ian in Qeynos Harbor and ask him about armor. You can find Ian (something or other) in the area where the Clock is. As you enter the area he is on your right behind a tent and next to a building. You'll get a multi-stage quest from him for Templar armor which apparently is very good. Its VERY hard however, and you'll need groups for most of it. I'm on stage four ... stage 4 is in Vermin's Snye, and stage 3 was in SH. I died a few times in SH due to agro <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Helpful people rezzed me so wasn't a complete loss. XP is good doing this quest too. So far I have gauntlets, bracers (I think?) and boots. The boots I couldn't wear until level 21.Have fun and good hunting!

<DIV>Okay the Bloodsabers you need will spawn in the Down Below at a much lower level (blue/white-- or blue/white-) than the sabers that spawn in VS. So, just keep running around the Down Below until you collect the scrolls you need for the quest. After that, get a higher level priest or a lower level rogue to sneak you into your instanced trial in VS. Or get a small group together to fight your way in. After that, it's all up to you.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Zabumtik on <span class=date_text>11-21-2004</span> <span class=time_text>10:49 PM</span>
<DIV>Ok I finished quest. Easiest is to just get the bloodsabers in the down below instead of VS, much easier and yes, solo.</DIV>

finally did it, note to self "use HO 80% of the time" here are my tip, get the quests and group in Vermin Snye, and do some xp grinding, take it right to level 19.99 youll get domonating smit along the way, very handy, to find the place, its simple, lower doorway stick to the righthand wall, at lvl 19.99 all the skels are grey and dont attack, some people sprint to the door and make it at a lower level, and first time i double clicked the door, and got stuck in the graphics, so rightclick and select open door, once inside, stay next to the door, buff up etc, target , weaken the skel on fire, use your HO all the time, once dead, move forward into the righthand corner (the skells resting in the cryt left and right didnt agro me!) rest up, rebuff and target attack the next three, rest then attack the main guy trying to summon. hope that helps.

<DIV>Thanks for the guide. I was in Vermin's Snye helping someone get their spirit shard last night. It turned out he died right outside the door to quest. I figgered why not and zoned in. It went down just like you said it would. Easy as could be.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>what i did was powered up then took out the flaming skeleton, then rested, crawled between the tombs so they wouldn't aggro, then went straight at the name boss (mostly out of confusion cuz i went at the three skeletons but then the name boss came too) took out the boss, and gated my wayout while the three skeletons were on me, although they will probably interrupt you a few times, you eventually get it, plus u regen while u do it, so u can just heal yourself if u get too low</DIV><p>Message Edited by LeeCheez on <span class=date_text>11-22-2004</span> <span class=time_text>12:49 PM</span>

<DIV>Just completed the quest at 19. I have to agree with other people, do the Bloodsabers in Down Below. They are very easy to solo at 19 in Down Below. Just run around and they randomly spawn on you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Next you have to find the tomb of Sir Wimbly (or however it's spelled) in Vermin's Snye. I seriously doubt you will be able to do this part solo. There is just too much stuff that will agro you at 19. Duo with a 19 Rogue we didn't have any trouble. Your not really trying to kill anything in VS, but the Bloodsabers will still pop on you, and there a lot tougher in VS then in Down Below. And there are a lot of skeletons that will agro on you. As the original post described there are 3 entrace type things in VS, the areas with a spiral stair way and water down below. One is the actual entrace, one is the entrance to Crypt of Betrayal and the last looks like a dead end with nothing in it to everyone else, but if you have the quest you can click the door at the top of the steps.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I found the solo instance pretty easy also, remember to debuff everything, as you always should <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> And heal with BoV when needed.</DIV>
