<DIV>I am new to the PvP servers and heard that necromancers can do very well if played correctly. Does anyone have some tips for winning? I searched the forums but I've only found arena/duel tips, which I guess is very similar but at the same time different. Thanks!</DIV>

Arena stuff is fairly applicable to PvP servers, though PvP server changes weren't done to the arena. Duel tips are likely gonna be completely different unless you end up PvPing in a cramped area. As for regular PvPing... not sure. Haven't experimented with it on a Necro (though have w/other classes).<div></div>

<div></div><div></div>Arena and Duels are great places for testing out some spells and pets... but when it comes down to it utterly different from real world PvP. It is true that Necro's if played well can do quite well in PvP and of course what level you are PvPing at makes a big difference. Since I've been 70 for awhile now on Nagafen my comments will all relate to level 70 PvP.One of the greatest things about Necro's in duels is our versatility, we can change to adapt to the class we are dueling by simply changing pets... However in the real world it's impractical to resummon a pet every time you run across a new fight. Personally I run my Scout pet when I'm PvPing solo and Mage pet when I'm in a group PvPing, the scout pet will disrupt a person a bit more and that can be quite important for staying alive in a 1v1 or 1v2 scenario (alternatively some Necro's run Tank pet to optimize keeping the other player off of them). In my opinion your most powerful spell as a Necro in PvP is Fear. Cloth classes in general simplly can't take the hits and if a class that can stun early gets a jump on you the fight can end before you have a chance to really set up. Therefore in most fights I open up with Fear, that gives you a 12 second window to throw up Compulsion, send your pet in and get ready with a root or snare. I save stun for my Oh Crap button in case they resist something or get a bit too close (too far if they are a Ranger). Staying alive so your pet can kill them is the name of the game with a Necro, and we get more then enough CC spells to do it.After that it all depends on who you are fighting for where you go next. If it's an cloth then usually a swarm pet and Lifetap will finish them off, however if it's a tank or healer then you'll need to get your dots up and work away at them. If it's a healer and you notice that they are smart enough to cure themselves a lot then you need to work to time your stuns with your swarm pet/dots.Finally one of the safest tactics a Necro has to them is Kiting, and just about the only way I personally have found that I can beat a Bruiser consistently. Snare is THE hardest spell for people to get rid of, can't be Close Minded and a lot of cures don't hit it. Therefore if you find yourself in trouble just keep snare up, keep your distance and let your pet beat away at them while you keep your health up with Lifetaps and Arch Lich.Sorry for the long post but PvP is intensely complex and hard to give "tips" for in short summaries. Hope some of this may help and if nothing else spark more discussion about how other Necro's PvP. Oh, one last thing... when running around on a PvP server ALWAYS have butterfly totem up and your see invis buff up, seeing them before they see you is everything.<img src="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/signature?characterId=336016120"><div></div><p>Message Edited by Sic Boy on <span class=date_text>12-05-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:27 AM</span>
