I am going down my ROT line and Scout pet lines, not sure on final spell if I want life burn or debuff pet. that decision will determain my final respect to balance where I need the points once I have them all.Summoner tree 50/50 Sta/StrNec tree 8/50 Rot line.

Both lifeburn and void beast only costs 1 point, so you can easily have them bothbtw, I chose Innoruuk and on the new AA I will choose full rot line, grave line up to void beast and a few crowd controls.

Message Edited by eburgos on 11-16-2006 01:16 PM

I basically want to max out every spell I can. 5 points on my rot was killer as it procs soo fast!!

There really is no answer to questions like these. There is no such thing as the "best" or "correct" layout for a necro. We got options, which one do you want to use?

BUT, since you asked, here's my experience with all the new AAs. My playstyle tends to fluxuate, and since we got unlimited respecs in Beta, I got to mess with all options in all situations.

1. Pet Path - Good stuff for everyone, but nothing so all impactful that its a must for anyone. The 3 initial pet skills all offer improvements. For the soloer, the tank pet taking 10% less damage is really nice. The scout pet's hit percentage boost and the mages resistance boost are good for group and raiders. The 2nd tier of this branch is also decent depending on playstyle. If you wanted to work this path and planned on raiding more than soloing, take the scout and pet lines down, 5 points for each of those, then fill the swarm pet recast reduction, and Undead Tide. This should give you enough for the new pet if you really wanted it. But personally, I think the UT and swarm recast are worth more than the current new pet implementation, so its all up to you.

2. The Pact Line - Again a good path for some more than others. The healing stuff is good for soloers, but not really that important, you aren't going to become a healer taking this line, and the difference in heal amounts isn't going to make or break you by any means. Raiders will want this line for the recast reducer on hears, and for the finale skill... Both of these skills are almost exclusively useful to raiders. I can't imagine a group or solo player caring about either.

3. The manipulation Line - There are some gems here that I see many people looking past... No the .1 second casting speed increase on root and stun aren't life changing but they do make the spells alot more responsive in emergencies. And given the new walking backwards code, the faster the mob gets rooted/stunned, the farther it is away from you when it lands. The real nice stuff is in the debuff enhancers. The wis/sta debuff really is sweet at Master I and fully AAed, you can suck 111 -117 (forget which) wisdom and stamina from the mob. This is around 200 hitpoint of buffage you get to keep for a while. The int str debuff gets up to around 100 also, If only that was also a drain type spell it'd really rock! The finale... I'd say this was a soloers finale, its a decent one at that. It makes your debuffs heal your pet for 10% per cast. Now this is a little awkward to use at 1st bacause you don't usually break your own debuffs to cast them again, but at 10% per cast, it can be worth it.

4. The rot line... well this is obvious... sort of. I love LifeBurn, I think its currently the best AA for necros this release... its a 5 minute recast and can only do up to 60% damage vs a single mob, and for raids you have to coordinate with other necros cuz mobs become immune to its effect for 30 seconds per time they're hit,... Oh and you end up with very limited HPts if you trying to use it solo, but other than these limitations it does huge damage.

*** oh some other things to note.... Not sure if they pushed this to live, but on test, they fixed fear so that mobs/players can not autoattack while feared. There was also word that in some cases they planned to give fear effects a root/snare property so mobs didn't run around quite as much while feared. If these changes make/made live, then the fear resistance enhancer in the manipulation line looks even better. On beta, I could snare, root, fear a mob and keep it distracted for quite a while, and in that time they can do no damage or their damage is greatly reduced.
