<DIV>Is there a way to tell your pet to assist the MT... UNLESS ... you get attacked, in which case it should come over and pull the mob off of you?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yesterday for the first time I was fighting in a PUG in an enclosed space with lots of social mobs (the Ruins). By the time I realized I was getting hit, it was often too late to tell my pet to switch to me since I was nearly dead.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is there some way to tell the pet to do this automatically?</DIV>

<DIV>Slightly different but also the same question really, I've found in groups that I send my pet in to assit the MT but once the mob is dead he comes running back to me. that's fine when there's only one mob but if theres more than that I have to keep sending him into battle each time the mob dies and another one gets targetted by the MT.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is there any way I can get him to protect the MT for example so that he stays in the battle untill all the mobs are dead rather than having to be sent back in every time they die.</DIV>

You shouldn't use your pet to pull mobs off you since that is the tank's job. I highly recommend turning off pet protect me/self while in PUGs.<div></div>

/agree. The last thing you want is your pet to attack something too early.Let the tank pull the mob. That's his job.

Once the first mob is dead, at least it won't come running back to you - it'll stay put at the point where you told it to stay. I have my pet attack button on my hotbars, so once the MT chooses the next target, I can send pet against that one (once I'm sure the tank has aggro locked down, varies by player) without the additional time of the pet running <EM>all</EM> the way back to me and then <EM>all </EM>the way back to the fighting. In a lot of groups, your pet doesn't even make it back in before that next mob is dead, and rather than being helpful it's just running laps.</P> <P> </P>

<P>That "stay" tip is great advice. Looking forward to giving it a try. I have always been embarassed by my pet running laps during a group encounter.</P> <P> </P> <P>Thanks,</P> <P>Huskeron Red lvl 63 necro</P>
