According to this list I would go with Innoruuk, mainly for the pet line.

i am going for sol ro for the following abilities:Solusek's Soothing Scorch - 1500 FavorTarget: SelfCasting: 1.5 secondsRecovery: InstantRecast: 1 hourDuration: 1 minuteEffects:

On a successful hostile spell this spell will always cast Sooth on caster.

Heals caster for 10% of max health

Increases power of caster by 10%

Grants a total of 5 triggers of the spell.

Special: See Description

Notes: Definitely a worth-getting ability for raiders. Essentially, if you're nearly out of power, use this, and you've got another half-bar of mana. Also potentially useful for Crusaders, as their offensive spells should also trigger this, letting them have more power for taunting, though their fighting style means it is unlikely that many will take the entire deity for this one ability. But unless your heroic fights have a tendancy to run extreme durations, this is a raid-oriented ability.(i can defnitely see this being useful)Ro's Fury - 750 FavorTarget: SelfCasting: 1.5 secondsRecovery: InstantRecast: 1 hourDuration: 10 minutesEffects:

On a successful hostile spell this spell will always cast Ro's Flames on target of spell.

Inflicts 261-391 heat damage on target

Special: See Description

Notes: This seems like it'll be an awesome ability for any offensive caster. Basically think Bone Clasped Girdle, though 100% proc rate. For necromancers, it's like an extra lich proc without the lifetap portion. The recast is harsh, meaning if raiding you'll really have to make SURE it's up for the named, but when using it, it'll be awesome.(seems like it could be very nice to up your DPS)and to a lesser extent for these:Incineration - 1875 FavorTarget: EnemyCasting: 1.5 secondsRecovery: InstantRecast: 1 hourRange: Up to 10.0 metersEffects:

Inflicts 100% of max health in heat damage on target

If Target is not Epic

Inflicts 13033 heat damage on target

If Target is Epic

Special: See Description

Notes: Because power cost is not found in popup descriptions, this ability could be a once-an-hour free manaburn, or a manaburn equivalent that simply kills the opponent (if non-epic). Definitely neat, though again, until somebody actually unlocks it to see the power cost, this is an unknown.(this one could be nice, just wondering what INT the person had that inspected this and what kind of damage it will do with 600 or so INT)Servant of Flame - 1250 FavorTarget: SelfCasting: 1.5 secondsRecovery: InstantRecast: 1 hourDuration: 10 minutesEffects:

Summons a pet servant of flame

Special: See Description

Notes: if this is a controllable pet like other summoner pets, this could be quite godly for whomever takes it. Likely a fire-wizard type like Conjurors get, but this is purely speculation. Not enough information here to say whether this is good/bad/mediocre.(want to know if this pet gets regular pet buffs while it is up and can you have it and regular pet up? i woud think you could and would act like when you have a charmed pet but i don't know)Sun Sphere - 1312 FavorTarget: EnemyCasting: 1.5 secondsRecovery: InstantRecast: 1 hourDuration: 24 secondsRange: Up to 35.0 metersEffects:

Summons a limited pet to aid the caster

Special: See Description

Notes: Seems like a standard swarm pet like necromancers and summoners get, though with a re-cast of an hour, it's even worse than the item drop in DT that gives a triggerable swarm pet that has a half-hour re-cast. Unless this thing is a complete ball of fury that does 10k+ damage before it expires, I'd say this is a waste of favor due to the extreme re-cast time.(even though i really don't want more dumbfires might do some nice DPS but no way to tell till you use it)(my comments in red, actual abilities were copied over from http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=echoesoffaydwer&message.id=27287)

i find it weird that Necros can worship Ro, the Prince of Fire.

It would make mero sence if Ro would be only valid choice for Wizard or Conjuror, but for Necro??? Just seems out of place for me.

besides Innoruk, the ideal god choice for Necro should be Bertoxulos (god of Plague), which is sadly is not present as a choice.

Cazic Thule should also be a valid choice for Necros

i didn't choose it for the fact the god "fits" the class but because i like the abilities besides i don't see how it is that bad a fit, i didn't play a necro in EQ1 but am pretty sure they had atleast one fire dot, think it was called funeral pyre.

so? which was a ridiculus name and a dot base imho

sony crearive team has been rarely known for following logical lines. One can find lots of contracdictory information in EQ lore at times.

I've been planning on worshipping Cazic-Thule pretty much from the beginning. More for RP reasons than any tangible game benefits (since they weren't known).... I just figured that the only thing better than being a Necromantrix would be being a really freakin' SCARY Necromantrix!

After looking over the posted list in our other thread here, I see some fun things in Cazic-Thule's lines. But then, I've also always enjoyed toying with the CC aspects of the class, and not just been focused on pure-out DPS. So I think I'll have fun going that route.

Cazic has some cool stuff for us, but I'll only follow him till Bertox is released! Then I'm running fast as I can to the pestulence and disease god... I mean come on, Necro's and Bertox are like made for each other!

Cazic also has an additional charm spell that works on any non-named mob. This is compatible with our normal undead charm and our normal pet... So for 10 minutes you could have 3 normal pets + DF pets + Undead Tide and that equals even more mob carnage.

Currently as a Necromancer seems Sol Ro is our best bet, does seem sort of sad though that this is like an absolute perfect line for Wizards, but doesn't really fit our theme so much, and the theme that does fit us has worthless favors for raiding Necromancers.

And you all do know that these powere do not stay forever right? They're all 2 usages then they poof and you have to go pray for them again... So its really not going to be a casual usage thing anyway.

If you're focussed on Raid DPS yes... But CT and others have some great benefits for other aspects of soloing and raids besides pure DPS.

For example, Cazic's Will does a 88% slow on a target for 60 seconds, thats a HUGE support ability.

Which is why there is no single deity that 'we should worship' as Necromancers. It'll all depend on playstyle, and what you want out of your class.

Pure raid DPSing Necromancers will likely want a very different build, and a different deity, than a primary soloer or grouper. And even within those sub-categories, there's lots of room for latitude.

I knew I was going with Cazic-Thule from the get-go. As I'd said before, initially just for the RP thing of being not just a Necromantrix, but a really freakin' SCARY one. I figured that there'd be fear-based things associated with him (duh), and thought there could be some fun tools in the mix to play with. Clearly, I'm not going for a straight up DPS maximizing concept, so choices of what gods to worship change from gameplay perspective. As with so many other aspects of this class, we have a lot of potential variety to work with - one of the things that makes Necromancy so great.

Very tough decision. I just finished the Cazic Thule Timeline. Firstly I chose Innoruuk, but switched to CT even before finishing the first Deity Quest, because CT was the god of the trolls in EQ1 and I was not sure what to do with all these HATE blessings. For a tank a very usefull tool but for me as caster?? But with CT I am not that satiesfied neither: It seems like Sol Ro will give us the highest rewards for raiding, and deep in our hearts we LOVE it to be one of the top damage dealers, don't we? From my current state: I think I should have stay on Innoruuk. Maybe I will switch again, but first I will test the CT abilities. My first experience: letting my Undead special forces attack the Level 70 ^^^ in CT of Quest Step 5, and adding the pets from Blessing 2 and Miracle 4 (If I remember right), I was able to kill the NPC solo without any problems. With Undead army there were 14 mobs fighting my battle *g*. Currently I am looking forward to Bertoxx.
If you want DPS, Sol Ro is a No brainer for a few reasons

- Although he is annoying the imp familiar gives you 28 more int at level 70 (He says the best things when you hail him too.. Not like the pompous innoruuk zombie)

- The cloak at level 70 adds 65 damage to all harmful spells

- on the Blessing side there is an ability that adds roughly 300 damage to every harmful spell you cast for 10 minutes!

You can have this memmed at the same time as one of 2 options

- A very large nuke. Currently my int is around mid 500's self buffed and I get the nuke to hit for around 17k. It has hit for max damage every time I have used it and its quick casting. My Warlock friends hits for 22kish

- Sun Sphere!!!!!! Everyone who talks about Sol Ro talks about the big nuke but they obviously haven't tried this pet. Its is a ^^^ Heroic Pet that dishes out HUGE damage. I'll just let you try it out for yourself. This is the end all for Sol Ro worshippers in my opinion. I haven't parsed it yet but trust me and go have fun with it youselves

Estean Bonerattler

I did Innoruuk first, and was pretty happy with that. The Minions of Evil are great (consumption works with them), but they show up as independent of your dps since they don't summon with your name attached to them. Maestro's Song is really nice too.The someone told me the Solusek Ro cloak was adding to every dot tick (it was at the time) so I switched to that. Now that they've nerfed the spell damage modifiers it's not as significant, but some is better than nothing. Ro's Fury is amazing for dps (blessing) and it's nice having Incinerate since our normal nuke is so low (had it crit for 25k recently).I would prefer to choose Cazic Thule based on lore suitability (well actually I'd prefer Bertoxx) but his diety abilities are next to worthless.

Sun Sphere made Sol Ro worth never thinking about another god....I used it in Freethinker Hideout and in 24 seconds it did over 100K damage.

oh frell. i spent a long time reading the descriptions of the two capes you get from completing the inny quests and yet completely missed the bit about it only proc'ing on melee attacks. my reading comprehension at 3 am apparently isn't that good. man, i'm bummed now

I've been running parses using both the sol ro cloak and zet cloak and not seeing very much difference to be honest. Because we are such fast casters the zet cloak procs often during raids so the casting haste is up alot.

I'm no number cruncher tho, just my own opinion on the matter. On a slightly related deity note: sun sphere is definitely an awesome dumbfire pet
Message Edited by Jasuo on 12-01-2006 08:01 PM

The life-tapping cloak does not work for spells, only melee attacks. Just like every other "on successful attack" proc in the game.
