View Full Version : Any Exile Necromancers? Curious about the downside, if any.
Most of my characters are Qeynos based (or will be when I finish exiling them). I was thinking of exiling my necromancers, and upping faction with Qeynos, but not converting to conjurers (ive got those already). Are there any downsides to this? Are there any quests that you can only receive if aligned to a city? Maybe class specific ones?Comments appreciated. Thanks,

I betrayed and became a FD citizen and I experience no negative effects. Unless of course your question was geared strictly toward people who stay in the "Exiled" status then there are some negatives. I believe that you will not have a house or an apartment to sell out of....there could be more....

Yes I plan on staying an Exile. No house is ok, as I can use another character to sell with.Anything else?

I kept my coercer as an exile for a couple weeks as I transitioned from illusionist. After a while travel became annoying. Getting out of Haven it Nek or TS is easy enough, but I really missed the easy travel. My necro is bound right by the bells in East Freeport. I can get to Sands, TS, Nek, etc. in a matter of seconds. I always had to run my coercer half way accross a zone, then a griff ride before I had easy access to bells. It wasn't horrible, but it just got annoying.

Vanzen 59 Necro Befallen Server

Can't exiles live in Maj Dul?

Last I knew, Exiles could still buy housing in Maj'Dul. The rapid travel from Haven was removed though - until you get Call of Ro, the only way to get to Maj'Dul is to sneak into one of the cities and hop a carpet.

So, very possible to remain an Exile, just a bit more of a headache.

Besides that, the things that come to mind would be a lack of available writs (if you plan on being in a guild), since those are given by city factions. You may not be able to start the Qeynos Claymore quest lines either - that I'm not sure of, but they seem like they're city-aligned quests, since there are starter NPCs in each city. I never tried to get the Claymore quests from an Exile character though, so not sure if it works or not.

So the carpets would still be available. I guess the bells would be also.So does anyone know if the city faction writs mean that you need to be a citizen, or just friendly with the city?I like being able to pass stuff back and forth between my characters, and its really just the Necromancers that are restricted with the evil class. Since I really prefer Qeynos, perhaps I will just bite the bullet and give it a shot. Thanks much guys,

Message Edited by Faelos on 11-02-2006 12:00 PM

Would be nice if the boats from Q/FP where not one way to TS/Nek... :smileyhappy:
