<DIV>I have recently returned to EQ2 from playing WoW for about a year. Currently I have a lvl 9 Beserker and a lvl 11 Dirge. My dirge is pretty sweet has some nice abilities, but I am really torn between playing what I loved in EQ - Necro/SK.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have been doing alot of research over the last few weeks and am getting alot of mixed/old information. I really liked both classes in EQ and wanted to find out if they are as bad as people make them out to be in EQ2? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Necro's appeal due to versatility (eq) being able to mana tap and then siphon back life and pretty much keep on going without stopping unless something goes really really bad. Is that the same in EQ2 for the necro's?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now my true love the SK, I absolutely loved my SK in EQ and was very torn when I quit. I have been reading alot that SK's simply aint what they used to be and they are not looked for in groups (which isnt to big a deal, I will be mainly soloing and grouping with a RL friend who rolled a beserker), is a SK a viable solo/group orientated tank class?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Both classes are good for soloing, or groupping.<BR><BR>If your looking for pure versatility, Necros flat out own, between their Rez, Solid DPS, power taps, Hearts(clicky for other people to cannibalize off of), life taps, necro is the win.<BR><BR>Severals claim Shadowknights are '[Removed for Content]' as the term they use for it, SKs do good, but rely more on gear then Necromancers.<BR><BR>All classes that I have played tho have been fun its just really what suits you, sadly, the lower levels of the game can be a bit boring, so don't go judging the class entirely when your only at level 20, it doesn't get good until 30s when you actually feel like your class and have a solid line of spells/combat arts to go through.<BR><BR>Goodluck in whatever you choose.

<P>Thank you for the quick responce, I do appreciate it. </P> <P>I understand the premise of a class coming "into" its own after 30ish, and I really try not to judge any class pre 20 simply because I havent seen enough. I may just roll one of each and play both <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

<P>Another question (almost check out time wooooooot) would tailoring be a good choice for tradeskill nor necro being able to make own clothes? Or is world loot/quest items better?</P> <P>Same for sk, but armorsmithing/weaponsmith ?</P>

<DIV>Armorers make Chain and Plate armor, so, if your looking to make your own armor for your Shadowknight, Armorer is the way to go.<BR>Tailors make Cloth and Leather, so, for your Necromancer, thats the way to go.<BR><BR>And as for a Weaponsmith, they can make things that will fit both your Shadowknight & Necromancer.</DIV>

<DIV>You are always going to get a slightly biased view of Necromancers from this class forum. If we didn't love the class we wouldn't be playing them (and that in itself is the biggest endorsement we can give). As for which classes will suit you that is an open question. Is your playstyle solo, group or is the early game just in the way of your new raiding career ? Luckily the Necro class doesn't suffer at all in any of these situations. Yes we might not get a group invite as fast as a healer or tank etc. but we can continue to get experience by soloing while other classes struggle. On raids we more than hold our own so getting a pick there isn't hard either.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These days with what seems to be quick experience gain at low levels, reduced worry about joining a group (no shared exp debt or shards to go chase after a wipe), the best advice I can give is try whichever class you think you might like and give it a go. These days seeing you pick a class at level 1, not work towards it at level 20, your lower levels are a fair indication of what sort of skills your going to be playing with.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Either way, go out there and have fun and your a winner either way.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sark.</DIV>

<P>Oh and a sage is not a bad tradesklill option for a Necromancer either. making your own spells can be of more benefit to a Necromancer than new clogthes (tailoring) as we are less gear dependant than most classes.</P> <P>Sark.</P>
