If you ever play an alt healer, start calling the tank your pet, and complain about how your pet doesn't do what you say, etc.Can be fun if you've already given up on a group with a [Removed for Content] tank and just want to amuse yourself. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
I dont find the tankpet that bad still, makes a nice stand in when your tank has to go afk for a while as long as your group understands not to run around agroing entire rooms.

Its a playstyle adjustment on being careful what you pull and making sure those in your group are prepared with any prepull casts and such to soften the blow.Id like the tank to be better dont get me wrong but that would make it overpowered as it should never equal a player tank in any way.

<P>I agree with you Jalek. I can solo comfortably pretty much all of SoS etc without much problem and yes it's definitely has a lot to do with playstyle. I've never duo'd with a Fury/Warden so unsure but I have grouped with a templar and it didn't go too well. It's quite possible the templars skills weren't upgraded beyond adept 1 because earlier that week I duo'd all of Sanctum to get claymore updates and even looted 3 masters from named (Grim heretic M1 at that!) without any problem. The inquisitor rarely dropped below 80% mana. </P> <P>I'm very satisfied with our tank pet and I also enjoy tanking in group when no player tanks can be found. My only gripe is that even tho our pet defense has a lifetap proc it's really not upto par in comparison to conjuror tank pet. In addition to buffing the mitigation for conjy pet they can also use plane shift which is a phenomenal spell. It's just wishful thinking on my part to see the Dreadnoughts mitigation go up slightly.</P>

It holds aggro okish in offensive stance as it cycles through the spells (and taunts) a bit quicker - but it it utterly miserable in defensive stance - it should be weighted to cast its taunts more frequently at the start of an encounter. Dont have any issues with its hps or its 0 mit, just the dumb [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] casting.

<DIV>i spoiled by being set up pretty nicely spell an equipment wise but keeep in mind we werent made to solo yellow triple^ heroics solo or anything <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> (even tho at lvl 60 my tank pet tanked the epics in the clefts.. ) so it all depends on your set up and how you play.</DIV>
Since soeccing to the STa AA line ive honestly preferred using my tank in most situations. For raiding its great witht he AE immunity and for soloing the agro transfer, damage intercept and shockwave make life so easy to hold agro and do well.

In fact, during many and yes MANY fights the tank pet (M1 dreadnought with M1 offense/defense) is able to out damage Nightshade by a mile. Something ain't right about that.</P>

I agree this seems to be a pretty common thing now most Necros with M1 tank pets seem to use them 80% of the time (with the exeption of zones with grouped mobs), i mean why not if not for more reasoon that its close to the coolest looking model in the game LOL....JK bit sad really that nightshade was so hacked into, loved that model as well......maybe if the M1 assassin droped it might be useful think ive seen 1 on my server..........anyway back to the topic post i find that M1 tank pet at 70 is fine with exeption to nameds of equal level or above, which i dont mind that it cant tank....../2 WTB Nightshade Master 1 PST <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

Tell me about it.. since lvl 40 I've been looking for Nightshade M1 and still no luck. Even to this day I'm offering 80+ plat for it on Butcherblock and no one seems to have it willing to sell it even at that price. Oh well. I gave up my hopes on Nightshade a long time ago and to be honest even at M1 I doubt it can out damage the Grim heretic and I doubt it can out damage M1 dreadnought even! Although I'd love to parse and see the difference.

All the Summoners but me in my guild use the tank pet when we do a named with a nasty AE. I really don't find the AE immunity from the STA line that great. Sure it'll live the whole fight but how bad will your DPS be? The tank pet can't use any CA's when he has AE immunity. Currently I use the mage pet in raids and have the HP dmg ---> 50% power damage buff from the WIS line and I think that's the best way to go. The tank does diddly for DPS already, even with his CA's. </div>

<DIV>Prior to the respec of my AA points I had shockwave at adept 4 and TBH I did not notice much of a difference during group encounters but in raids yes it did help a lot. Altho using that spell did reduce the pet's damage considerably overall it had a positive outcome in the long run as I did not have to heal the pet and keep pulling it back and send it back in. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'd like to mention that when I was soloing Nest last nite I actually tanked better than my tank pet which is not only a surprise but an intense shock. I had Xaviz's gown of glory equipped for the damage ward along with a couple of other damge buffs and to my abosolute shock I was able to tank Nutty and his mates without any problem. Granted I had minions warding (adept 4) to help me also but seriously it shocked the heck outta me. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I engaged Switch however and sent the tank pet in, switch ripped and I mean ripped thru 13,000 HP with 2210 mitigation (had pet on offensive stance). As soon as pet died (after using yeh'dad's caduceus to heal 40% health) and my transfer life the tank pet still got his butt kicked switch came after me and I was able to tank him from full health (and his buddies) till the end. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I really feel if I can tank better than my pet then something is wrong. I only have 1100 mitigation with 36% avoidance and about 4900 HP. My pet.. has 13 thousand HP, 28% avoidance (in offensive) and 2210 Mitigation... how does a named chew thru his HP quicker than mine?? I will never know.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe one of you guys can shed some light on this. Is this supposed to be like this?</DIV>
