I'll be honest, 90% of the time solo I used to have the [Removed for Content] out, other 10% was the scout and that was just for trash mobs. Recenly I've started using the mage pet. Now that's what I call fun! Kinda like playing my old warlock, but with less inturupts! Never really had much use for upgrading the root before now as the [Removed for Content] was always in there taking all the dmg anyway.Anyone else do this? Am trying harder and harder mobs to see what I can get away with. Grouped mobs are the most fun <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

I would like soloing with my mage pet and reset my AA. Unfortunatly, with 1415hp at level 70, it can tanks everything up to T4 then k thx bye. Impossible to jump between 8 gazers and kill everything, pet tanking half of mobs. Scout pet can do this, dilema... Penumbra. Storms. <div></div>

I've had good luck soloing with the mage pet. I know this is unorthodox, but I put the defensive stance on him and I have a lot of good gear, so I can take a beating myself. He survives a lot longer with the def. stance and still does good damage. I find that with root and stun, I can solo blue heroics (I am level 40), but for the tougher named, I bring out 'teh [Removed for Content]' as you mentioned. Also, I have M1 Thulian, so that helps a lot of courseDeathghost<div></div>

<DIV>I rarely solo with anything other than my mage pet......always made a point of it after retiring my warlock at lvl 52. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I tank and pet assists.....If you go the INT line for the mage pet, it gets 15% reduced cast times and also the deaggro helps to help you keep aggro off it. If you add your life taps and pets group life taps you'll be quite surprised how fast you can mow down the mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Higher than low green ^^^ heroics can be another story tho.....you need to target things that you can take a few hits from before dying else it's gonna have to be the tank pet <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
AFter always using my tank pet because of what people said to do here, I read this post and switched to my mage pet. at 26 I have 1114hp and 1657power so I just usually tank and spam lifetaps, I mow through yellow solo mobs, and green double / triple up's or blue double up or lower heroics. Its fun. I was getting bored doing the send pet in, let him tank while I nuke this adds a little more excitement since its more fast paced. <div></div>

<P>The mage pet is a great pet to solo with until about 45-50. At which point the scout becomes the easy choice. Some will swear by the tank pet, but honestly I cannot recommend it unless you are taking out heroic named mobs. Good luck with the mage pet and enjoy the ride to 70. I can honestly say I am disappointed in the pet selection at 70, with one very clear winner for PVP and PVE situations.</P> <P> </P> <P>Nuuki</P>
