<div></div>im pretty new to this game and im having a pretty good time, i have a lvl 42 warden and im not to bad at it but im sure everyone can play a healer. anyways, i tried to play a monk but only got it to 10 and just thought it wasnt my thing, im not much into fighting in close combat. so after looking around the forums guess ill take a crack at the necromancer class. as i know they are on the evil side right? which isnt to bad i guess, but my warden is on the good side and most of my friends play on the good side too, so it might be weird playing on the evil side, but hopefully not. im still not really understanding the betrayel thing that people talk about a lot, all i know or little of it, is that you can betray the good/evil side and go to the otherside? if i do that wouldnt that make my class go to the good side which would be what, the coercer or warlock, which i dont want. and i heard from some that you can betray your class or something like that and like go a different class kinda, like a berserker to a guardian or something like that, not really sure, if anyone can help with that, thanx. anyways, sorry for the long and stupid post probably. thanks for reading and i hope i can enjoy the class. one more thing what is a good race to go with the class, was seeing a lot of those erudites and dark elfs, those the only 2 real races to go? <div></div><p>Message Edited by Zeaf on <span class=date_text>07-17-2006</span> <span class=time_text>04:08 AM</span>
Evil = freeport = NecromacerIf you betray..good = Qeynos = ConjurorUnless youre on a PVP server good/evil doesnt mean alot so you can group with your friends just as easily but youll have more travelling to do to reach them.Race makes no real difference overall, erudites have a higher starting int but its so easy to balance this with equipment id really not worry. Choose what you want.

<DIV>Yes, there are WAY too many necros... on my server alone, there are 60+ necros on at any given time. SOE needs to put a limit on the number of certain classes on a server.</DIV>

If you want to be a necromancer you have to be on Freeport side. There are many advantages of this you soon will discover by yourself. Until you reach level 20 you will have a hard time getting to your friends in Antonica, however you will level so fast through these levels, it really doesn't matter. OTOH if your friends don't start an alt too, they can mentor you and should have no probs reaching you on the good, errr.... evil side.If you betray, you can't change classes, like from mage to scout or fighter. You just become the good/evil pendant of your current class. in my opinion you can live without betraying. For the race question, browse the forum, this question is as old as eq and answered many times. In short it really doesn't matter, play whatever you like. Remember you have to stare at the butt of your char for some time. Most ppl choose Erudit or Elves due to initially high int (you can see this on the official everquest site or in your manual if you bought the boxed version). A troll starts with 10 int, an Erudit with 30 and the higher the int the better (at least in general) your damage output. However even starting with a troll you can soon catch up, and once level e.g. 50 it is not important if you started with 10 or 30 int as you will have 200int by then.<div></div>

Good point, way too many necros. Try getting in a big guild with a neccy - they've got more than they need, trust me. Roll a Coercer or Illusionist and you'll fly in.<div></div>
