<DIV>Having a slight problem my Dumbfire Macro not taking its name on summon.  I am using the following Macro but changing the /Useability from my main Pet to the Dumbfire.  I am getting a pet name with my main pet but the dumbfires are just listing my toon name with the spell name.</DIV> <DIV>Here is the Macro:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>/Petname Plaguerats</DIV> <DIV>/Useability swarm of rats</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now I am using the guide for conjurers and building Macros to free up some space on my bars.  The Pet summon, Def Mode Pet buffs, Off mode Pet buffs and self buffs are working.  According to the guide you can name Dumbfires. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Has something changed or am I missing something?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for the Help</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Dumbfire pet naming was removed with the last live update, though I'm not sure if it was intentional, as I don't remember seeing anything in the patch notes about it. Most likely intentional due to complaints about the name tags causing a lot of screen clutter, especially in raids. I miss seeing "Snuffles" over my evil death pigs' heads, but I have to admit that being able to see the mob I'm attacking is nicer.</DIV>

<P>On that topic, does anyone know if the new naming conventions wiht swarm pets count them towards our DPS, or are they on a listing of their own.</P> <P>We used to name our pets our toon name to get accurate parses and with the swarms holding the same name you knew all Saurakk DPS from pet and swarms were under my name, but now I am not so sure.</P> <P>I think it is by the amount of DPS still coming out, but not sure since I dont run a parser.</P>

I put the actual spell icon in the spot where the macro used to be.  At least now I can see exactly when it refreshes instead of guessing.  /shrug<BR></P>

<DIV>If the /petname doesnt work the same way it used to for pets, ie if you cant name the dumbfire pets your own name, your parser will show them as a separate entity so it wont be as easy to tell your dps, but theyll still generate hate the same way they used to.  Not sure if thats what you were asking or not.</DIV>

<P>The pets are still tracked on parses.  One way to tell is to not use them on 1 trash mob, then use them on the next.  </P> <P> </P> <P>I think they're being tracked like dots now.  Targetable dots.</P>

Dumbfires show up just fine in parses for me now, though with ACT you will see some clutter associated with them showing up down at the bottom. Just look in the detailed listing for your personal damage and you should see a listing for each type of attack from your dumbfires. This makes using Undead Tide while doing detailed parsing a big hassle by the way, since the skellies cast about a dozen different abilities that all get lumped together in my personal dps listing in ACT parses. Doesn't change the overall numbers but I like keeping things organized. The actual function has not changed for any of them (you still get the hate from any dumbfires once they depop, etc.).<div></div>

Is there a macro for sending in your pet to attack? On nights when tanks are scarce and we are not doing anything heavy I use my tank pet as group tank. I'd like to do a group say then have the pet take off after the %T.

It was those commands in eq1, so it's possible they are the same here. I always use the icons (don't use a macro), but try it out and see if they work. It's a place to start at least. And if anybody figures out the commands to RESTORE the pet "guarding" itself and me, so I can put both into one macro, that'd be cool too.
