I tried out a necro for the first time tonight on the test server. I quickly got him to 10th level and did the same with a conj. I can't put my finger on it, but I just like the necro set-up better so far (I know it is ultra early). Maybe it is all the DoTs or the cooler pets, I don't know. Anyway, I looked at the necro spell list and I noticed that 99% of the damage spells (at least through level 35) are disease damage. I only saw one piercing attack (the bat one from splitpaw I think). I looked at Conj and they do two or three types of damage (magic, fire, cold I think with the 1 pierce damage bat spell as well). This made me wonder if there is a problem with having only 1 damage type at your disposal...I play PvE so maybe this is less of a problem but I was concerned about getting to higher levels and running into mobs with high disease resists. Should I worry about this, or is it no big deal PvE wise.

Thanks!

Message Edited by Dragonlord1 on 06-28-2006 11:43 PM

Message Edited by Dragonlord1 on 06-29-2006 08:56 AM

Never had an issue, and also remember that your pets are on poison IIRC, and not disease. Both noxious yes, but still different, so there's always a decent chance that even if you are having resist problems, your pet might not. And then there's always the "physical" component of the damage from pets, so you'll never be doing zero.Still, thus far, I've never had a problem killing things, or having resists at all really.

I think fist (lavastorm x4) is the only mob that I have ever felt useless against - it being immune to disease / poison attacks and a large aoe to kill off dumbfires. If you are getting a lot of resists from 1 particular mob then send in the dumbfire trio (crushing i belive) and the scot pet - debuff and thats about it

Yeah not really a problem. Couple things to remember is even if something is resistant to noxious damage you always have your debuffs. Your WIS/STA debuff line will decrease the mitigation of all resistances slightly due to the lack of WIS, your pet also has the proc debuff for noxious, and as a previous poster stated you have your swarm pets that does physical damage as well as your melee pets.
