Haven't been playing my necro since the first warnings of LU24. Was on another toon and happened to see an adept3 Grim Thulian (lvl 34 Warlock pet) for only 60 gold. Since the caster pets did not get nerfed I got on my necro and bought it.....I like this pet best for pvp anyway. Wanted to see the damage he could do so I posess minion. Damage on spells range from the 100's to the 200's....not good but an increase over adept1 I hope anyway. Just curious about his hit points so I hit the "p" button....that is where I got a small disappointment:

Fully Buffed in offensive stance at full health and power, still in my tradeskill instance as well, there were a couple of attributes highlighted in red.

One of which was hitpoints showing something I had never seen before 745/495? Numbers not exact due to memory but was defiintely 7??/4??, which to me would indicate that he had more hitpoints than his total hitpoints? very low amount at that.

Anyway it was the second red highlighted attribute that upset me. Next to DPS Mod was -90%

Is this as intended? -90% DPS? Anyone else notice this?

Went to try him out in CL on some lvl 14^^^ mobs ....very grey at lvl 36. First thing I noticed is he wouldn't follow me. Then he would cast once and run in and melee casting occasionally. He killed the mobs about the same speed as I could by beating them with my wand and not casting, but he took a little more damage while doing it. Kinda on par with my Mystic's dog or my old SK pet in EQ1.

When I get home in the morning i will try him out again and I hope this is all changed. If anyone else has experianced this please post.

Thanks,

Mcdade

PS-be constructive please....keep flaming to a minimum....remember Smokey Bear is watching you.

haven't checked my other pets but I've noticed if I possess my Master 1 Undying Dreadnought he'll show something like 12900/8400 for HP and other times it'll be 12900/12900 so don't know what's going on with that. I've noticed sometimes my tank pet can totally kick a mobs butt and other times it looks like my tank pet is my caster pet because his HP drops so fast. Never really thought about it until now again. I think I'm gonna /bug it so the Devs can be sure our pets HP isn't actually [Removed for Content] at times. I can really tell the difference in how fast my pets HP drops sometimes. Just thought it was getting hit by a strong spell or combat art from the mob.

Message Edited by Suraklin on 06-26-2006 01:45 AM
Caster pet -90% dpsTank pet -10% dpsScout pet +10% dpsThis only affects melee fighting though so your mage pet doesnt suffer anything at all from this.

I don't use my Level 34 mage pet because it does so much damage I haven't found a tank that can keep aggro off it yet. I have the M1. I've possessed it and the spells don't look *that* impressive number's wise, but considering that they're all on pretty short recast timers, 2 are aoe's, and 2 are lifetaps, and the damage and aggro add up in a hurry.

That said, I still tend to use my scout when in a group. The group heal from the lifetaps is nice, but not so nice I like to see my pet gets aggro, go squish in 2 hits, and then see the mob coming after me. Of course I just FD when that happens, but it's still annoying.

Edit to add: Here's a screenie I have of the M1 spells for the Grim Thulian:

Message Edited by DwarvesRUs on 06-28-2006 03:58 AM

I noticed you have the HP display bug most of all in that screenshot showing 841/526 for HP. I get it too and when I know my pets HP is showing like that my tank pet gets his butt handed to him when I fight an encounter. Devs need to check out why our pets are doing that.

Message Edited by Suraklin on 06-28-2006 03:44 AM

You mean like this for the Tank and Scout too? I noticed it when I took the shots, but didn't think anything of it. It shows that way if you hit "P" while possessing the pet too. (Note: screenies were taken Pre-LU24, so the numbers are too high on the Greven Frenzy and all Scout Skills, in case you are looking at them to try to calculate anything. That said, the scout pet still does insane damage to ^^^ mobs in a group. . . .)
