View Full Version : Master 1 Dreadnought

Is it just me or do most necros have one of these, I have been losing my mind looking for any pet masters, can't find any masters period from named, raids masters are always bard spells, and the few masters I have seen for sale are 40-100 plat, considering I have liquid assets of 14 plat I'm a bit out of the range for this price.

This wouldn't be so bad but everyday when I am sitting around on the docks of freeport or hanging in TT I see about 20 necros run by, one or two of which have the adept 3 and EVERYONE else with the master, are these dropping like candy in a certain area that I am missing? I understand the nightshade master is near impossible to find and I am cool with that, mage is hard but I have faith that eventually I will find one, however I primarily solo with moderate grouping and raiding so I am desperate for the tank master, please I beg of you, any inside info on where this master is known to drop would be incredibly much appreciated.

thanks

This seems to happen a lot. I was the first person on my server to have Grim Heretic M1 scribed. About 2 weeks later it seemed everyone had it. A month later I was the 4th person to have the M1 Dreadnought. Now it's everywhere. The only thing keeping them from spreading like wild fire is people's stupidity when pricing necro masters.

Both the T7 pets seem much more common than any lower tier pets were. They are clearly dropping more often than the conj two aswell which is odd. I had a Dreadnought drop from a solo ^ in bonemire. Very surprising to say the least. :smileysurprised:

And also our two single target dots (which I didn't buy when everyone was farming t6 content, because im an idiot..)

The m1 tank pet just has a few more hit points and has a fear type attack, pretty sure that these are the only diffs between the ad and the m1 version. (Obviously the m1 pet will use its spells at a m1 quality..) The m1 will not really help you to hold aggro any better than the ad3 would, and to be honest if you cant do task x with an ad3 then you probably cant do it with an m1

Best thing about the m1 is it looks a lot better than the ad3 - which looks shocking.

The M1 Dread drops in some ring event, and I am sorry I cant tell you which one. I would say just be patient and keep checking that broker as often as you can. I have seen the M1 Dread spell for as much as 55 plat and then one day I see it on there for a a much more reasonable price.

Drawing from calculations from other posts, the difference in AD3 spells and M1 spells is 14%. Depending on what that spell is it can mean a difference. I do not agree with the aggro holding being the same as the other poster has stated. I believe there would be a 14% difference in the aggro control offered by the M1 spell vs. ad3. I am not of the level that can even use this spell yet, but that is my next ding so it remains to be seen by me.

Dont fret, you will be very effective with AD3 and dont get all hung up on having the M pets. The price will come down. I remember in EQ1 the specter pet was selling for 150,000 plat. Then one day there was a flood of them and the price dropped to 7500k plat. That is a major drop in price. It will happen as time goes on. The price is high cause its new.

(Edited for sentence restructure)

Message Edited by Vici_Necromancer on 06-23-2006 07:53 AM

Its not a fool proof method but a good strategy is to try to kill heroic and named mobs of the level of the spell you are looking for.

So lvl 66 mobs would be good to target for a better chance of finding the tanker on your own.

I got mine off a raid in Lyceum when the zone first came out...I couldnt tell you the name of the mob, but I have seen a significant pattern of same level mobs dropping the same level masters when you happen to get one.

Well in that case, look on Vyemm's lackey for the M1 of Blighted Horde. Got that in a raid last week after we downed the dragon. Only necro on the raid, so I got THAT master for cheap.

Honestly I could care less about the master having more HP or extra aggro holding, I have had all addept 3 pets through the life of my necro, Its just that the adept 3 dreadnought is fugly lookin.

I'm not just talking unnatractive I mean straight up no holds barred ugly, the bizzare purple spines everywhere are odd looking to say the least but the worst part is the wierd [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] purple gotee looking thing on its jaw, at a glance it looks like it's jaw popped off and some odd fungus started growing from a stash that a hippie left behind. Anyway buying the master is simply not an option, I have seen exactly two on the broker on guk in the last two months and they were both easily above 60 plat, people selling them in the 60-69 channels are askin 40 plat and I am sorry but even if I could afford that price I wouldn't pay it, I am closing in on 10 plat right now, 17 if I sell my horse and I would go as high as 15 plat for it but no way I'm payin 40+ for a 14% boost in stats.

Guess what I reall need to do is get in real good like with a raiding guild and become an outsourced necro since I love my guild but they don't do much raiding.

I've seen 9 drop in the past 2 months. Two came from HoF. Two from Den. One from Blackscale. One from Nest. The other 3 were random trash mobs.

The most shocking thing I saw was the Lvl 60 Aiery Hunter M1 dropping in the Adventure pack from a lvl 63 mob.

In other cases it will faff about for a bit, by which time you have had to stun + debuff and aggro managment is then more haphazard. Obviously the m1 pet taunts are going to be more effective, because its combat arts will be at m1 quality. The casting order of the pets combat arts is the real issue when trying to control aggro, which is why I find sod all difference between the ad3 and m1 pets.

:smileytongue:
