Am I losing my mind or is it just me? My pet can't follow me at all now, I turn around and he's on the other half of the zone. I watched it a few times and he starts to follow, then stops and waits around for a bit. Anyone else having pet follow issues?

This is happening to me too. I think there is a thread over in the Conjurers section about this as well, so we aren't alone in noticing this.

Message Edited by awfultruth on 06-18-2006 12:03 PM

My pet seems to follow just fine, but at like half the run speed as me. It could be because he pauses like you are noticing but whatever it is, it's quite aggrivating. :smileymad:

I noticed the same thing so did a simple test.

I ran backwards (well flew backwards on my carpet) while watching the pet. He would run for 50 feet, stop for few seconds seemingly lost, then run again, the stop etc.

It did not take long to leave him far behind which is annoying to say the least. Are they trying to make us use our summon pet to our side spell more often ?

Sark.

Message Edited by Sarkoris on 06-19-2006 10:07 AM

I'm guessing pets no longer has the same run speed buff as us. Quite lethal when you bump into unexpected aggro and the pet is half a zone away. Better be fast with the summon pet hotkey...

Nope.. has nothing to do with the run speed buff. Walking (no speed buff of any kind), pet still falls behind. It's because it's stopping every few seconds to smell the flowers or something. Very odd.

Had the same problem in CL. Didnt realize is I sent my pet into battle and he did go, tried again -nothing. I looked back and there he was barely on me radar. I watched hmm sputter and fumble all the way up to me. This happened all the way across the zone. I just thought it was something I was doing. I am pretty new to the class.

This fun new bug has killed me twice now. Been moving along to a mob I wanted, get there, hit the "sick'em" button, start casting, and I notice for some reason I have agro. I look around to see if I maybe had an add. But, no, then it becomes apparent what the problem is. My pet is no where to be found. It is just me and mob going toe to toe, and well, we all know how that goes. So, I FD. Over 1 min later my pet finally shows up to attack mob...I let him die. He has to learn discipline somehow. Point is

FIX THIS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!

I mean there is enough for me to adapt to already w/ changes to Necros as a solo class. Since you are gonna nerf my tank, make my HoT a direct heal, and take away my DPS pets, could I PLEASE at least have the broken fool stay beside me?

Same problem here. Killed me 3 times over the weekend. I do think pet HoT should have a better health->heal ratio since our pet now has a lot more difficult holding aggro.

Picked up the Carpet Quest yesterday and then ran up to near the Clefts of Rujark entrance to see if the Rujarkian Highwayman Leader was up. He was but someone else had just engaged him. So I watched for a while and then went back to where the Blades guards are. Figured I might as well recall. Shortly before I finished casting a zombie came running up the slope. Yep, you guessed it, it was my Rotting Thrall. He must have been at least two minutes behind me. This has to be fixed ASAP!
Message Edited by Krith on 06-20-2006 01:42 AM

Sigh.. what you guys fail to realize is that the pets are revolting against the nerf. How would you like it if your Mojo was chopped off?? We neutered our pets so they're not moving as confidently. Heck if my master chopped off my mojo I wouldnt' be too comfortable following him around.

Ok back to reality....

Did a quick run through the dev forums... didn't see anything. Unless I missed it.I'm sure they have to know about it by know right? It appears as tho it is affecting more than one person.

Well, I don't think that the Devs are going to fix it overnight. And I'm pretty sure they won't comment on it either, since they never seem to comment on anything anyway. !!!This is getting pretty annoying. When I'm soloing I assume my pet's always behind me or something, so I aggro a mob, thinking my pet would rescue me. But noooooo, (s)he's catching butterflies on the other side of the zone.

Having same problems here--

Was in POF running around and saw some 55 down arrow harpies-So I thought, easy kill and went in and used my aoe knowing my tank pet would gain aggro shortly-problem was my pet was not on the screen. So i beat them down myslef and when the fight ended he finally showed up. Kinda looked like he was grinning.

Didn't think it was funny so spent a few minutes devouring his health to teach him a lesson.

Seriously though-I also have a 23 Conjurer and in Antonica was going to try the fanglord-only problem was pet was about 15 seconds behind me.

Hope it gets fixed soon.

Maybe since they neutered our pets they are feeling apprehensive about engaging anything and lagging behind hoping we'll change our minds or fight the mobs ourselves.

Cheers,

Jerril

I don't know about you guys but I've gotten pretty used to using "Summon minion" spell. It has fast recast and is effective even if the pet is on the other side of the zone. I know it's not a "fix" but it'd help with the situation in the meantime.

Keep a Start > Run > CMD > ping -t (insert SOE server IP here) while playing when this happens, I only find this a problem with the pet not following when I am having any kind of latency bounce....not lagged out a bounce so dont start b!tching that your internet is fine, its a bounce not a drop off. If it remains then maybe certain zones are causing this.
