<DIV>I noticed this yesterday after the patch although I saw nothing in the patch notes that made mention of this. In Barren Sky I engaged two ^^ Blacktalons and unlike my usual pull style where I send the pet in first, I engaged them with a DoT spell. Of course the Tank pet came into my defense and took aggro of me. Nothing unusual there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then I decided to use Infernal Cloud the AoE spell and the second mob that pet was not attacking aggroed me. As soon as that happened my pet immediately turned towards that mob that is attacking me and started to pound it and actually got aggro off me! I was dumbfounded and to say the least as that's never ever happened before and something I wished would be implemented.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Has anyone else noticed this or do I need to lay off the scotch for a bit while playing?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>---EDIT--- Just to be sure I then engaged another group of mobs the same way and the tank pet protected me the same.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Kraven Coldblade on <span class=date_text>06-15-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:28 AM</span>

Perhaps you had "Protect me" instead of "Protect Self" on in the pet commands? That's my guess. I have not noticed this personally.<div></div>

<DIV>Well yes, I always have that on while soloing. However, previous to the patch the pet never attacked the mob that was attacking me. It stayed on the mob I asked it to attack or the first mob to attack me and did not engage other encounter mobs until that mob was dead or I redirected the pet. In this case, the pet actually went after mobs that attacked me, like a real tank would. Again, if this is implemented intentionally I'm absolutely thrilled.</DIV>

Hm - I see what you're saying. Well, if they improved something that benefits necros, then two /thumb<div></div>

This is nothing new, my tank pet always did it. However, it did it for me only about 50 percent of the time. (the 50 percent of the time being a rough guess). If it does it 100 percent of the time now, then it is new.

When I solo, I have protect me and protect self selected. If I get aggro during one fight.. sometimes (not always) the pet will stop attacking it's first target and begin attacking the target that aggro'ed me. I have not quite figured out why it does it sometimes and not others.</P>

Happened to me last night.... when I didn't want it to do it, either. Got an add while fighting on Cacotoxic so I feared/rooted it... then my dreadnaught decides to go breakoff from what it's fighting and breaks the ghetto mez. :smileysurprised:
