Protects pet so long as he has power but takes alot less power then it would health. After Power is drained your pet will then start taking physical damage.

I use it a lot when raiding.  Throw up the AoE immune skill on the tank pet.  If he starts taking damage I throw on the Animist Bond.  It's great since the AoE immunity prevents the pet from using CA's.  (Use consumption to make up for the lack of pet DPS while performing this stunt.)
