Not sure what others think of this but one thing I do when soloing groups of mobs is send my dumbfires on different targets. Main tank pet on the toughest mob, zombie on the next, and rats on the next. This usually ends with 3 mobs dropping their health at about the same time and a single AE life tap takes them out, if not a single target life tap usually finishes them. I do a lot of target swapping when soloing to save my dumbfires from being wasted on a target my scout/pet tank can take down quick.

Heroic mobs are a different story since they have more health. I'll usually root the toughest of the bunch and take out the others concentrating on one at a time throwing all I got at em.

Another thing I was wondering is how you deal with heroic moments. I tend to pull with darkness, send in tank pet asap. Hit the heroic moment, then quick DoT to start it, then the AE DoT, followed again by the quick DoT or long DoT. With this I sometimes get an additional damage on the mobs from the AE or single target. Not sure how much it is but it seems to work despite giving me aggro occassionally.

I'm level 42 and I've solod my way to where I am now so it works pretty well for me.

Another thing I've done for tougher/named mobs is if my pet is almost dead is to root the mob, kill the pet, summon a new one, and toss out as many DoTs/Dumbfires as possible, then FD to lose the aggro. I actually had my main pet die and my rats finish off a named the other day while I lay pretending to be dead.

PS. if any of this sounds newbish then that's probably because I'm fairly new.
