<DIV>Im lvl 59 now, but not so long ago I was bopping along in the Commonlands and my wife and I where killing mobs for quests. She is a tank, me a Necro. I think I was lvl 16 or so and we needed help with this one mob. A fellow higher lvl necro offered to help and we accepted.  - this is where the fun starts....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We had been after this mob for a while,  so this higher lvl necro was sure to win it for us, or, that was the plan anyway.  The battle started as normal, I cast my spells and was impressed at the power this higher lvl Necro was thowing around, then, all of a sudden.......THREE RATS joined the battle. Out of no where ran these three rats and they con'd RED to me - all three of them. Having never fought this mob before I assumed it had called in friends or something, the mob was almost dead but these RATs were con RED!!!!  - hell the mob was only yellow!!.  Knowing that we were just getting by with the mob, I knew these red con rats would eat us alive. SO...I ran away and called for help. I also shouted to the group..RUN RUN!!!! ADD!!!!...so....they all did. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Figured it out yet?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yes, the RATs I so feared belonged to the higher lvl Necro. They were her dumbfire Rats! I just didnt know Necros could do that and I hadn't got high enough in lvl to look it up. I basicaly made everyone call for help, and loose the mob to boot. When they asked, "what happened" I said...."what do you mean?...you didnt see those THREE CON RED RATS!!!!"...needless to say we had a good laugh about that.</DIV>

<DIV>Good story.  Don't know how many times I had groups screaming "ADD!" when I released the little critters.  I wish they'd take the pet name off em.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Clavicle</DIV>

u can remove pet names by checking the "no NPC names" box in options...useful when raiding.

<DIV>I have seen a Necromancer run from her own rats, yelling for help all the way. I sent her a /tell asking if she needed help to which she replied "Are the rats chasing me or can I come back now". Once I explained the "rats" were hers she got a big laugh out of it followed by a "Oooh - Im uber now" type comment. It was the 1st time she had cast her swarm pet. :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I bet you looked forward to getting those "red con rats" having seen the higher level necro with them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sark.</DIV>

<P>Yup, that was fun the 1st time I cast the rats with someone who'd not seen them.</P> <P>Casting Netheros as a warlock got the same reaction.</P>

heh I remember back when the doggies were a training option in the higher teirs last year, i had a lvl 30 something warden, never seen anything but the rats before that, i went into stormhold to help some guildies with the dwarven workboots mob at the bottom, we spent 2 hours waiting for him to spawn, when he finally did this group of 3 rotten dogs pops out of nowhere and in the mayhem I think they are attacking us. I spent almost all of my mana tossing out group heals instead of single target because I couldn't tell who they were attacking. heh yeah I died. course afterward my guildies asked why I got myself killed by tossin group heals and I said " what's wrong with you all, those [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] dogs were coming out of nowhere, I was trying to keep us all alive" yeah the necro in the group starts emoting laughter and so does the assasin, but me and the shadowknight stood around thinkin our freinds had finally lost their minds. So the necro tells us to check our combat logs, boy we felt dumb, course I was so enomered of the cute puppies that I immediatly made a necro, turned out to be the best mistake ever.
