<DIV>I am really diggin what I have been reading about the necromancer...Always love that type of char class. But I want to ask a few questions before I start up my toon.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>!. What are good classes for being a Necro?</DIV> <DIV>2. I see that there are a few different summons that they get...Do you get access to all of them? Are you able to summon more than one at a time?</DIV> <DIV>3. What is the master class? I have seen a few posts about it and dont know much about it.</DIV> <DIV>4. Are there any tips or suggestions anyone can give that they wish the new when they started out as a necro? and as a new person to EQ2?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I pick up on games fast...and have a bunch of MMORPGs under my belt...So I know the basics. Also if anyone is recruiting for their guild since I havent started the toon yet let me know what server and who to message if they would like to have an experienced player in there...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV>

What do you think looks good? By level 20 your gear will balance out the racial starting differences, so it really doesn't matter what race you are. My Necromancer is a High Elf.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. I see that there are a few different summons that they get...Do you get access to all of them? Are you able to summon more than one at a time?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffff00>You start with a "tank pet" at level 1. You get a new "tank pet" to replace it at level 12. You then get a "mage pet" at level 20, another replacement "tank pet" at 24, and finally a "scout pet" at 32. From those final numbers of 20, 24, and 32, add 14 and that's the level you will get the replacement of the appropriate type. You cannot summon more than 1 "main pet" at a time, though there are also the "swarm pets" and "dumbfire pets" that you can have out all at the same time. The swarm/dumbfire pets are short duration damage dealers, is all.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. What is the master class? I have seen a few posts about it and dont know much about it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffff00>The spells you cast are ranked Apprentice (4 sublevels, "Apprentice 4" being best), Adept (2 sublevels, with Adept 3 (doesn't make sense, does it?) being best), and Master. Master is best, Adept is servicable, and you'd best not be wandering around with any pet below Adept 3, so don't tell me how cool your App1 pet is. Yes, that was a joke, but. . . a lot of truth to it. You really want all your pets to be Adept 1 at minimum, with Adept 3 being better. Masters are kinda hard to find, and *VERY* expensive if/when you do, but also VERY worth it.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4. Are there any tips or suggestions anyone can give that they wish the new when they started out as a necro? and as a new person to EQ2?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffff00>Tank pet is good for soloing, scout pet is good for groups vs single ^^^ mobs, mage pet is good for groups vs groups of mobs and/or if your group is light on healing (the mage casts lifetaps that heal your group). The scout pet can also be used for soloing, though with the damage reduction it's getting in a couple of weeks, it might not be so good for soloing then. We shall see when it happens. And as a "general new player" I'd suggest going to the "Newbie Yard" section for that <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></FONT></DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV></BLOCKQUOTE>Good luck and good hunting! Welcome to EQ2!<BR>

<P>Very improtant note if you played a necromancer in EQ1 - <STRONG>the EQ2 necromancer is not the same!!</STRONG> </P> <P>There is no Fear kite. Fear does not work in EQ2 like it did in EQ1. In fact, kiting in and of itself is not suited to the pace of EQ2 combat, being far faster than EQ1. The good news is that EQ2 necros are hellah fun, and a much better fit to the game mechanics of EQ2. AE lifetap ftw.</P> <P>I love my EQ2 necro and still don't have Lich. Just get as many of your key spells to Adept III as you can, then go have fun making the bad mobs go bye bye.</P>

Is there any 'secret' to getting Adept level spells? I'm still relatively low level (sub-20 at this point) and new to EQ2, so I don't have a huge cash flow. All the stuff I've seen on the Broker is super expensive which I find strange for low level stuff. Anyways, should I even bother attempting to upgrade sub-20 or what?<div></div>

Market seems a bit too twink shifted for true newbies I think. Money will come easier when it really matters. Either that or be a sage and level your scribbler alongside your necro.</div>

<P>Best way to get Adept 3's up to level 20 is just harvest every node you see. The drop rates for rares is very high in those levels. The last 3 alts I rolled all had AD3's for every single spell/art from level 1-19 just from the rares I found as I ran around doing general level-up. In T3 the drop rate slows down a lot, though, so from there on out you'll want to focus on your "key spells" like your pet, pet buffs, and lifetaps. The swarm and dumbfire pets are good too. My AD3 "stench" pet was actually pulling aggro off my M1 Assassin on solo mobs earlier today -- that was unexpected. . . .</P>
