I have lv 55 ancient spells (m1) control undead. But when I charm a green skeleton, the 2nd pet control panel will take over the original one. It makes me can't control MT pet anymore. Can I call up two individual pet control panel? so that I can control both MT pet and charm pet? Thanks a lot.

If your not already, you might want to make /pet attack and a /pet backoff macros to put in your toolbar. The /pet attack one will make both pets attack at once, so you don't need both displays to be showing.
And there isn't a way to have two pet displays as far as I know.

Message Edited by xPaladin9 on 05-29-2006 11:51 AM

Yes... have hotkeys for those commands, though let me recommend another. The charmed pet window doesn't always take over but when it does the consequence is that you cannot target your real pet by hitting F1 twice. My workaround is to have a special macro for /target. For me, it's /target Lothos (Lothos is what I named my tank pet).

Hmm, I never made an attack and back off macro, I just dragged the commands from the pet window straight to my hotbar, maybe thats the same? no matter, unfortunatly there is no secondary pet window, an inconvinience to be sure but one that is quickly forgotten as you use the spell more, I have mastered the art of targeting my main pet even in a thick cloud of enemies, others do the /target <petname> thing though I had issues of accidently targeting my swarm pets since I am far to lazy to change their names as well.

Make 2 macros something like this...

: ; petname George ; useability Summon Minion <--that one to summon main pet

: ; petname Fred ; useability "Dumbfire pet spell" <--- one for each dumbfire pet spell.

This will set the name of the pet right as its being cast and the rats/dogs will have their own seperate name, makes targetting with another macro a breeze.

Thanks Galn, it shall be done

It would still be kinda nice to have a second pet window when you use the CU spell. imho anyway.

It seems kinda silly that it would take over an existing pet panel. It does it to me quite often, and I hate it when it does that, and usually I just give up and sent both pets in anyway. It just seems more logical to have seperate controls for each pet you can actually control.

honestly my big problem with not having a second pet window isn't when I have a charmed pet, generally I use the tank with charmed so he grabs aggro, it's when I am using a fluff pet that it annoys me. nothing is worse than keeping a fluff pet up so you don't lose buffs and then having its health bar overide the one you are actually trying to maintain. hopefully soe will get that static pets need their own window, course sometimes I have as many as four static pets up so having four maintinence windows up would get annoying but well worth it.

Perhaps not necessarily a second window is in order, but I think at the very least we should be able to change what the primary pet is. This effects not just CU, but also the fluff pets we use to hold buffs. That I think is a more realistic expectation than a second (or even third) pet window.

I barely got this spell and had it made at adept 3, after reading the posts here they give me the impression that I can, limitly, control the charmed and main pet individually. I was trying out the spell in SS, green zombies, the big grimreaper ghosts by the river and last the 52 ones that are for the carpet quest.I liked the spell quite a lot but it seems like it's basically a ticking bomb with no visual timer, wish this spell had been made available at around 40 or so.Now what I found among other things and I might be doing everything wrong, was that 1 I could not do individual healing, tried to heal my main pet but the heal was absorved by the charmed pet.And I made absolutly sure that my Tank pet was targeted. 2 Charmed pet will not hold or create aggro, sent in a 52 heroic charmed plus my tank pet against Siphon, sad to say dead necro, but my fault mainly not paying close attention.Tank pet died, charmed pet almost full health, figured dead Siphon, nope Spider ignored the charmed pet and stun kill necro. 3 This one could be a fluke, Charmed pet (52 heroic ) plus Main tank pet against the same type of 52 Heroic ( Grimreaper lookalike) with me not doing a single thing just a 2 on 1 thing the mob will win, had my pet and the charmed one down to almost red while it was still on green. Does anybody know if once charmed it turns into a weaker version of itself and will the charmed pets be affected by the pet reductions coming in the next LU ? 4 And last I would definetly love to see a shorter casting time for both the CU and my main pet, watching the yellow indicator creep up while being beaten up and praying for a non interrupt is not fun.

What you should do to keep that from happening is to immediately back your pet off, cancel all DoTs/dumbfires, and fear/root it. Then wait for your tank pet's health to regenerate. Not sure if Siphon has a ranged attack, so this tactic may be out of the question.

Heroic mobs do indeed get weakened when charmed, which is why it is usually best to just do a no arrow or a ^. And to my knowledge CU isn't being changed in the next LU.

Edit: The clicky heal staff won't work when the charmed pet window is taken over by a charmed pet... it will only heal whatever is in the pet window and not our main pet. Something to keep in mind.

Message Edited by Tharangus on 06-12-2006 04:01 AM
