<div>I guess this is kinda along the lines of the other mage pet post but I am wondering what people are using the Master I lvl 62 mage pet for.  I personally have been looking forward to the lvl 66 tank pet but I got this one now and would like to hear some feedback from people who have it.  Later in lvls are you still using it?  Worth a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] in group over the 60 rogue pet? (in the early to mid 60's).</div><div> </div><div>Thanks</div>

<div></div>I only pull it out for raids.  Especially for grouped encounters with over 1 million hps like in Ascent of the Awakened.  Otherwise I keep my scout pet up.

I seem to definitely be in the minority with most people on this board, but i have the Master1 Grimmy as well and use him to solo most of the time.  On top of just looking cool as all hell, he does decent dps while keeping a heal over time and lifetap on you. When i say i use him to solo that doesnt mean hes tanking, but neither am i.Having 3 different types pets is what makes Necro and Conj to some extent so fun and flexible in playstyle.Example of how i fight with mage pet:  On heroic singles, using the root/snare/fear/stun method....only as im casting stun ill tell mage to attack.  Shortly before stun wears off and i start casting root again ill tell him to back off.  That way i still get his heals and some dps while not getting clobbered.  Much faster than traditional method, and safer since his spells seem to break root/fear/snare less than melee attacks.  Against solo singles up to ^, Root>Send Pet>snare>stun>Coil>lifetap>fear>snare...and so on and so forth.  Mob is susually dead before it eventually breaks roots and snares and gets to me.  Solo groups of mobs, just send pet in...cast torrential, AE lifetap.....mobs dead.I pretty much only use tank or scout pet now for heroic groups, and even then if its only 2 mobs...ill still use mage.  Scout pet does out dps the mage pet, even ad3 vs master, but the small sacrifice in dps for added help in healing is an acceptable tradeoff of dps vs utility IMO.  He can at time beat the scout in dps on groups, as he AE's quite a bit.  Plus the feeling of having the 2 of you nuking down a mob before it even gets to melee you is just awesome.  Kinda feels like how it was meant to be.<div></div>

<div></div><p>Its pretty simple...</p><p>Tank pet for Soloing, Mage pet against large numbers of grouped mobs, Scout pet against single target mobs (that you can position scout behind mob).</p><p> </p><p> </p>

<div></div><p>Heh.. somepeople do like to live dangerously and use the mage pet, and rely heavily on the roots/stuns/fears to handle them... since the page pets spells are usually weak enough to NOT break the root,etc.</p><p>But you are MUCH more likely to get wiped by an add or a fizzle or whatever in those cases... can be a bit more 'exiciting' though I guess.</p><p> </p>

Dangerous?  I thought i made it pretty clear....its not dangerous at all.  Those things you mentioned can happen regardless of what pet your using.  I dont know which game youv ebeen playing bud, but our tank pet isnt exactly Dolph Lundgren from Rocky IV anymore when tanking multiple mobs (ie:adds).I dont do it my way because its more dangerous and thus more fun, i do it becasue its the most efficient way of playing that ive found.  With the heals we get, there is too much downtime trying to heal up a tank pet after every fight....hes made of paper.  Id rather use a higher dps pet that i can take agro back from (unlike scout pet).  Much more efficient Playing with my HP and my pets than just the pets.  I dont die any more than any other necro i know.....but i get a lot more [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] exp/aa....this i do know.<div></div>

<div></div>I use mine as a backup healer in one healer groups. I mean most the stuff I fight is grouped and don't aoe so I park the pet in the middle of the group so that the group heal ticks on everyone and then patch heal if needed. I've also got the 2nd to last AA in the int line to 4 or 5 now so recasts arn't that bad. I've been complemented by healers and tanks on my healing ability without slacking on dps.

<div></div><div></div>Mine's gathering dust.  When I'm grouped I use scout or tank.  Raids I've started to use the tank. <p>Message Edited by Nainitsuj on <span class="date_text">03-29-2006</span><span class="time_text">02:31 PM</span></p>
