Just to set the record straight, Necromancer spell lines are being changed around for the pre-20 game. Everything 20 and above is unchanged.Included in the changes: A new tank pet at level 1, and Tellurian Recruit getting moved to level 12 (and for necromancers, it gets changed to an undead variant, along with a name change).

At lvl 1 necromancers will get Summon Minion, a bat. At app level its an ordinary bat, at Adept lvl its a fire bat (like in Nek forrest).

At lvl 12 necromancers get Summon Servant, a spider.

Tellurian servant is now a lvl 1 Conjurer pet.

Oops meant Tellurian recruit.

Correction at Adept I its a ghost bat at Adept III its a fire bat. hope this helps.:smileywink:

Shouldn't the Adept I and Adept III pets look identical? My Summon Minion (Adept III) is, indeed, a "fire bat." I'm new to playing a pet class, but was under the impression that there were three distinct graphics for each pet, those being Apprentice, Adept and Master. Is that wrong?

I'm planning on staying in the Outpost for quite some time, and am hoping to get my hands on the Master I version of said spell (I have four Masters, thus far), for no reason othen than to see what it looks like. My guess is that the Adept III is probably bugged and the graphic for the Master I, though I hope I'm wrong.

The appIV bat is a ghost. I can't attest to adepts as I've never had one, but appI is a regular bat & appIV is a ghost bat.

Bizzare. So, the Apprentice IV and the Adept I have the same graphic? If the Adept III is a "fire bat," then I'm going to assume that the Master I is, as well. Have any of you scribed Summon Minion (Master I)? I'm a little more than curious as this point.
Message Edited by vwlssknght on 02-13-200609:05 AM

Summon Servant seems to have the same problem, the adept 3 and master have the same appearance, I'm not sure what the app4 and adept 1 look like.

Yeah Necros summon alot of undead minions, but bats have forever been associated with death and decay... vampires just being the tip of the iceberg. So bats, ghouls, ghosts, demons, spirits, vampires, trapped souls, maggots, zombies, leppers, even some form of golem would be fine traveling buddies for necromancers. Anything that feeds off of or exists due to death, disease, or demonic association would do fine.

While you have a valid point, also consider that maybe that is a hellfire bat (a bat summoned from the deep, dark fires of Hell)
Exactly what I was going to suggest.Hey... slightly off topic, but in line with what we're talking about...The Balrog from Lord of the Rings... Would that be more concidered a Plane of Fire native, thus elemental in nature, or are they Demonic in nature?

just because the bat is covered in specteral fire doesnt mean its an elemental based creature...
