<div></div><p>if a necro gets jumped without a pet up...the necro is goosed by almost any class. but then its there own fault for not having a pet ready <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>if a necro does the jumping i believe they will be [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] near indestructable. fright, stun root, whichever you prefer to cast first.</p><p>things like a templars sanctuary wont be useful if they cant see it coming <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> same with the bruiser immune to stun/charm/fear-i forget what its called, close mind i think.</p><p>if a necro is ready, but gets jumped, the pet will at least be able to defend you, but if its a permastunning class or *shudder a ranger or assassin as they are atm...not good for the necro <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>this obviously is based on 1 on 1 encounters...</p>

I'm just assuming, on a PvP server, that a necro's time would be spent Lifetapping, then AOE life tapping,...then fearing and waiting for the lifetap retimer and repeating with a few stuns if time allows <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Otherwise im sure they wont last as long as they would like.  People, sadly, won't be attacking your pet like NPCs =/ so without lifetaps you will be out pretty fast.<div></div>

<div>Depends on your target I'd think.</div><div> </div><div>Another caster would have a better chance against a necro. They couldn't take as much damage, but would be able to stay in the fight when rooted.</div><div> </div><div>A pure melee fighter though - screwed. Para/stun. load the DoTs, then lifetap and paralyze/stun/bind as needed. They're toast.</div>

I find other mages easy too, as well as fighters. I ussually cast my swarm pets first (both ghastly stench and plague of rats). They can cuase a lot of disruptions and the DPS really adds up with the two swarms+pet. Then depending on my HP i may throw in a few DoT's. Other wise i start lifetapping away. This has always been effective for me, however i havent dueled much with healers/scouts so im not sure how it works with them.Ciphanic 48 NecromancerFree AgentsShadowhaven Server

The quest here is WAY more complicated. The real quest isn't how well a L50_ necro would do, it's how well a necro from L1 up would do at leveling and competing in a cut throat world.I don't know the answer to that until I see the new L1 necromancer class from the ground up.If they give us taps and swarm pets from early levels, we'll be fine, but if we're stuck with the summoner type stuff we loose alot of our bread and butter skills. That could hurt the early days.I'll probably create a necro there and just lay low for a few levels. the trick is to stay ahead of the curve until you can hold your own.

I'm planning on playing on pvp as well. Despite the fact that I wanted to play a Necro again, I figured it would be suicidal to not be a ranger or a bruiser. However, I remembered something important. PVP has different dynamics than duels, something to remember we can be way out of range of spells, melee, arrows and send the pet in to soften up the target. It gives us the ability to dance in and out of range with sprint etc. I'm also starting to think the tank pet with stifles and root, may be an advantage in long range attacking like this, as opposed to the usual assassin pet. Aka, send tank pet in offensive, wait till it roots/stifles then move into range.

<div>I think a Necro will be a more than worthy opponent when he/she is on the hunt. The main problem for Necro's will be when they are jumped by others.</div><div> </div><div>In that case I rather be a bruiser than i Necro for sure.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Sinns</div><div>56 Necromancer on Lucan</div>

<div>I have not had a problem beating any class close to my level range (Necro is 32 atm) and I've fought several people every few levels from 7 on up.  The only time that I've gotten beat was when some assasin resisted the fear.  I can survive long enough to get fear off but not long enough to get 2 fear off if the dps is front loaded.</div><div> </div><div>I think we will be the best overall class.  Naturaly against low hp classes someone who can front load lots of dmg will be better, but with our ability to control the fight and our sustained dps. . . .</div><div> </div><div>It comes down to crowd control, if it works we win, if not, tougher fight. . . .</div>

<div></div>It will be very hard to kill a necro if their tank pet can force you to focus on it rather than the robe. If its straight to the robe, then they will not be as effective as they are in PvE.  If they make FD an invulnerable state for a few mins you could call for backup while the opponent waits for the FD to wear off.
