I am thinking of boxing a mage with my fury. Do you think a necro would be too hard? I've done this with a wizard and it was pretty easy, just mash buttons pretty much, but I don't know if that would work with a necro.

Also, how is their DPS these days? I'm also thinking of going warlock.

Not sure I'd recommend Necro for two boxing. Dont get me wrong, we rock, but you gotta pay attention to what you're doing.

I have an extended question on this topic.

Level 60.. how are necro pets as tanks? I currently have a high level SK and I 2box a defiler with him, I basically want to be self sufficient in leveling and tackling quests. Would a Necro be more equiped in this area with a pocket defiler? My SK tanks very well but the damage isnt quite there to take some things down without running out of power.

I two box a level 60 necro and level 50 warden on the same pc and easily was able to do 57 and 58 ^^^ giants in PoF. I used the adept 3 pet (Diseased Servant). They die fast with the gnarly necro dps. Pet holds aggro perfectly.

Warden worked out really well cause he has spells/buffs that significantly increase the defense level of the group, which helps the pet keep its health. The key is to play the healer smartly, using buffs and healing procs as much as possible to your advantage, so you don't have to spam heal....cause that's no fun.

Takes a bit of practice and skill, but is much easier when you use buttons 1, 2, and 3 for primary damage spells, and primary heals.....so you can react quickly and not have to use a mouse to target spells. Flipping the screen back and forth between chars (Alt Tab) is second nature, so it's not that bad.

Heh, try raiding the Fountain area in SC, running two toons boxed on the same PC but in different groups.....now that's fun. Everything else is cake!

I two box a 60 Necro / Fury combo and have no issues at all. To be honest imo at least it's much more fun than the standard Tank / Healer one that most fall into.I don't have alot of time to do instances atm, but I've boxed in all of them and done well except Cazels. That though was due more to the fact that both were sub 60 and I was acting as main DPS and only healer. Doing Roost, Tables, Poet's, etc I have had no problems at all.But then again I played a bard in EQ1 and at times feel like I'm being lazy even two boxing in EQ2. --And as a edit. I can two box those giants in PoF as well with little issue, but if you are looking at doing high level named the tank pet just doesn't cut it imo. At least not with my Fury healing it. Ran into one of the SC quest named in LT the other day and figured I'd try it... It went badly to put it nicely.
Message Edited by Chabisu on 01-03-2006 05:21 PM

I box with my wife's 57 Inquis & my 60 Necro it is nice because the reactive heals give you pleanty of time to make work between the two machines, I think it is super easy to do.

Well I am a three boxer and I have just started a new combo with a Defiler, Coercer, and a Necro. This is my second set of toons to three box so I was looking for something a little more interesting. I must say they have been ripping through Sand giants and Titans at an amazing pace getting 3 levels per night. I am just at level 19 but it has been pretty interesting so far.

I am look forward to many more interesting incounters. I not sure how this is going to work at higher levels. The Defiler wards on the Necro pet are making it a pretty effective tank. I was pretty skeptical this would work but so for so good. I have been parsing the DPS and of course the Necro is way out in front. I am hoping the Coercer will find some use at emergancy crowd control and mana pump. When you are three boxing, when things go bad they most often go very bad very fast. But I wanted to get a Coercer leveled up so this looked like an interesting group to go with and get my evil side toons.

So based on what I have seen so far two boxing a Defiler and Necro should work pretty well. As the Coecer in my group is only about 33% of the total DPS. The fury and Necro may also work, but with the fury you have to take the damage befor you can heal it, your are always working after the fact where the defiler stops the damage from happening. At lower level you don't have many hit points to work with. My other group is a Fury, Warlock and Guardian, which works great by the way.

I do not think a Warlock/Fury duo would work very well. Warlocks make very poor tanks, you would be stuck doing non heroic mobs only and the Warlock and Fury are best with multipule targets, there are not many of those in the non heroic catagory.

Message Edited by Gantell on 01-26-200611:37 AM

I 2 box my guardian and my necro....its easy as sin and its a good combo. I just have the necro on follow with my guard targeted, and rogue pet up. Start attacking with the guard, pet attack with the necro and then just go nuke happy. Use the necro has dps and the healer. Works well, my guard is 59, necro 50 and I can kill 60 ^^^ heroics no problem, its pretty good exp. Necros are one of the easiest classes to two box ever.

Question...I 2-boxed in EQ1 and was able to level from 1 to 50 in a few days.In Eq2, how easy is it to 2-box and powerlevel?

I decided to setup a second account for a healer for my necro. I decided on Inquisitor, and in two weeks I went from 3-43. Necro was 47 when I started and is 50 now.

I don't get to make use of most of the debuffs and cool spells the Inquisitor gets most of the time, because the fight is either too short or I'm too busy "finessing" things with the necro. But that may change as I get better at managing two systems. Lich added some new complexities at 50, with managing aggro mostly, but I've just about got that worked out.

A friend of mine thought a troubador buff-bot would be great as a second box character for his necro, but after I took a yellow heroic (^^) with my duo, he's trying a Warden as his second.

Its definately alot of fun.

After many months of trying different characters to 2-box with, ive finally decided the best partner to duel a necro with is another necro.

Nothing beats sending a Raid force of pets to kill a mob! Cast Skeltal Regiment and its the funnest thing you will ever see!

Of course this is probley the most challenging combo ive tried to 2 box

Does anyone two-box on a pvp server? If so, how is it working out?

Greetings All.

I started Boxing with a Necro and a Fury, they both are lvl 16 at the moment and I am having so much fun with them, I was thinking that I would do better with a SK but this makes me think that I was wrong.
