Protective Brace vs Grisly Brace

<DIV>Which do you think is better Protective Brace or Grisly Brace for soloing? Protective Brace absorbs more damage. I just hit 34 and am trying to decide if it is worth it to master Grisly Brace. I usually use Protective Brace can anyone give me a good reason to use Grisly Brace? I know it does a little damage aswell but I dont think that is enough to offset the damage that Protective Brace stops.</DIV>

Grisly Brace has a built in damage shield, which increases aggro. On top of that it has a better aggro mod than Protective Brace, and a better mitigation value. Since the role of your tank pet is to hold aggro and not deal damage, and act as a HP buffer, for that reason Grisly Brace is better than Protective Brace.

But  isnt Protective Brace better for tanking since it stops 23 damage per hit at master when Grisly Brace only heals your pet for 7 on a hit?

You still have to consider that Grisly Brace has a built in damage shield, which means you're killing faster than with Protective Brace. And your pet still generates much more aggro with Grisly Brace than Protective Brace, which is really all thats important.
